Shop 'till you drop in Manchester
Bursting with Yuletide cheer, Manchester's award-winning Christmas Markets are a remarkable sight, with over 300 beautifully festooned stalls and chalets spread right across the city centre. Together with Manchester's famous Arndale Centre - the UK's largest city-centre shopping centre - they offer visitors the perfect pre-Christmas shopping break.
Leaving the local area in the early morning we'll head to the cosmopolitan city of Manchester. Attracting millions of visitors each year, Manchester's Christmas Markets are regularly named one of the best in Europe, and are a sight to behold. Winding its way through the city centre from Albert Square through to King Street, from Exchange Square and on to Cathedral Gardens - with many other little markets along the way - a trail of festive stalls offers an abundance of handmade gifts, trinkets, jewellery, Christmas decorations and much, much more.
Enjoy a glass of chilled Prosecco or warming mulled wine as the mouth-watering aroma of traditional Bratwurst and old-fashioned hog roast fill the air. You'll find plenty of places to enjoy an early evening meal (payable locally), before we leave during the mid evening and continue to our overnight hotel.
We'll return to Manchester after breakfast, so you can continue to explore any Christmas Markets you may have missed the day before, or perhaps visit the renowned Arndale Centre, where you'll find over 200 brands and boutique shops all under one roof. And if you're looking for the ultimate luxury shopping experience, visit New Cathedral Street, where you'll find brands such as Harvey Nichols, Burberry and Michal Kors.
There'll be plenty of time for lunch (payable locally) before we head for home in the mid afternoon, arriving back at your pick-up point by mid-to-late evening after what promises to be a wonderful Christmas shopping break.
