Getting to Newcastle Cruise Terminal

If you're planning a cruise from Newcastle, you will be happy to discover that travelling to the Port of Tyne is simple and convenient. With great rail and road links, coaches, shuttle buses, and the metro, the city is easy to navigate.

By train: The closest train station to the port is Newcastle Central Station, with services to and from London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, York, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol among many others. The train station is a 30-minute taxi ride away from the port, and there is also the DFDS shuttle bus (open to passengers for all cruise lines) that runs from the opposite the train station. Alternatively, you can choose to take the Metro to Northumberland Park or Percy Main, and then get a bus or taxi (the Port is 20 minutes by foot).

By car: To reach the Port of Tyne by car, follow signage directing you northbound on the A19. Satnav users can use the postcode NE29 6EE to be directed to the port.

The cruise terminal is spacious and comfortable, with a capacity of up to 2,000 passengers. Inside the terminal you'll find a café and bar, a shop, toilets and an ATM. The Royal Quays shopping centre is also a few minutes by foot and offers a range of shops and eateries.
