Bask in luxury while surrounded by some of earth’s most beautifully rugged terrain: with Norway cruises, this idyllic holiday could be yours.

While exploring the UNESCO listed Norwegian fjords with a fjords cruise is undoubtedly a highlight, there’s so much else to do when cruising this picture-perfect Viking nation. And that’s before we mention the astounding food and drink options you’ll have at your disposal here, from locally sourced game to foraged herbs, fruit, and vegetables that are packed full of flavour.

With Newmarket Holidays Norway cruises, you’ll have your pick of excursions so you can make the most of your days out, always knowing you’re coming back to floating splendour. Try dog sledding, hiking, or explore Viking history at one of the many ports of call, where there are countless other experiences to be had. If you’re lucky, you might get to see a bucket list item for many: the ethereal Northern Lights. Best of all, with multiple cruise deals and cruise lines to choose from, you’ll be able to explore Norway exactly the way you want.

Food and Drink

Try traditional Norwegian kjøttkaker.

Dense, flavoursome meatballs in a delightfully rich gravy, often accompanied by mashed potatoes, or in some cases creamed cabbage. Delicious, hearty, and ubiquitous - a real local staple you need to try.

Svele are a pancake-like dish that can be eaten sweet or savoury, but to simply call them pancakes does a disservice to their complexity. Best served with butter and syrup, or local cheeses grated on top.

Seafood is, unsurprisingly, of a high quality in Western Norway, so it makes sense that the Bergenese version of fish soup, Bergensk fiskesuppe, hits all the right flavour notes and then some. The final hit of vinegar that gives it a distinctively sharp tinge is the cherry on top.
