Join us on a holiday to Borneo
From hot springs to beach resorts to orangutan sanctuaries - your Borneo stay will tick all your holiday boxes.
Brimming with ancient, dense rainforests, Borneo is not only one of the world’s largest islands, it’s also one of the most beautiful. Spanning 830 miles from its northeast and southwest points, the island is made up of a series of coastal swamps, rivers, and dramatic mountain ranges. And the flora and fauna which inhabits this diverse, monsoon-fuelled land are vast and varied. From monster flowers (the largest flower on the planet) to the clouded leopard to the now-extinct Sumatran rhinoceros, Borneo is a place that presents a lasting slice of colour and wilderness. But one of the creatures which have truly put the island on the map, and perhaps enticed you to take a holiday in this incredible part of Southeast Asia, is the humble orangutan.
The Bornean orangutan, differing from the Sumatran orangutan with its broader face, shorter beard and slightly darker colour, is critically endangered. On a tour to this Asian island, you can visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to get a glimpse of one of these beautiful creatures. Only 104,000 Bornean orangutans are left.
The rest of your Borneo adventure will include action-packed wildlife cruises, a jungle lodge stay, a visit to a lush tea plantation, firefly spotting, and a relaxing stint at a beach resort. Your holiday in this part of paradise is sure to be equal parts fascinating, thrilling, and calming.
