Your Itinerary

  • Fly to Riga, then board our coach for the short trip into the heart of the city and your hotel. After check-in, why not head out to enjoy your first evening? You'll find a host of cafes and restaurants to choose from as the lights of the shops and bars bring colour and warmth to the crisp, wintry air.

  • Set on the bank of the Daugava River, Riga is a city of striking ultramodern buildings arranged around a walled, historic core.

On our guided tour you'll see the Dutch-influenced House of the Blackheads, Riga Castle, the towering Freedom Monument and both of the city's magnificent cathedrals. The city's Quiet Centre district boasts some of the best-preserved Art Nouveau architecture in the world, while Dome Square, beside the cathedral in the old town, is home to one of the city's wonderful, traditional Christmas markets.

This evening, why not join our optional Latvian Folklore evening in a local restaurant, situated a short walk away from the hotel? The show will feature live music and dancing.

  • Discover more of the city, today, or join our first optional excursion into beautiful Gauja National Park. Here, ancient forests shelter elk, European bison and brown bears, while the Turaida Museum Reserve chronicles Latvian history and culture.

Later, join our second optional excursion and complete your visit to Riga with a trip to a traditional tavern where you'll enjoy an evening of local food and drink, and more live folk music.

  • Today you'll transfer back to the airport to board your flight home.
