RIVER CRUISES ALONG THE SEINE

Discover dramatic chateaus, quaint towns, and the always-dazzling City of Light on our enigmatic Seine River Cruises.

Covering some 775 kilometres, France’s second-longest river stretches across the country's north and encompasses a plethora of charming towns and villages, as well as its glittering capital city. Seine cruises provide travellers with the chance to venture into the heart of beautiful Paris, as well as exploring lesser-visited areas brimming with spectacular scenery and cultural wonders. Boasting rolling countryside, world-class art galleries and museums, idyllic chocolate-box villages or historical landmarks, cruises of Seine have all the makings of a truly spectacular experience. And should that somehow not be alluring enough, you'll find exceptional cuisine, mesmerising architecture and elegant gardens here, too.

Stretching from the commune of Source-Seine in Burgundy to Normandy's La Havre and into the English Channel, the Seine offers great diversity in its scenery and attractions. Many Seine cruises begin in the capital of Paris, offering the chance to spend time wandering the city's enthralling streets. Naturally, there are ample things to do and see here, from visiting some of the world's most famous paintings in grand galleries to enjoying a moment's respite in a traditional bar while partaking in a spot of people-watching. Another popular stop on our Seine River Cruises is Rouen. Featuring a medieval centre with half-timbered houses, Gothic churches, and pedestrianised cobbled streets, as well as the Place du Vieux-Marché, a historic square known as the place where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake in the 15th century.

The next stop on our Seine cruises is Caudebec-en-Caux. This small town has a historic centre featuring a 15th-century Gothic church which Henry IV is said to have named as the most beautiful in his kingdom, as well as a 13th-century Knights Templars’ house. Other popular cruises of Seine stops include the pretty commune of Les Andelys, home to the imposing remains of Chateau Gaillard, built by Richard the Lionheart in 1196, and Vernon, a charming medieval town boasting half-timbered buildings, a castle and the Musée Alphonse-Georges Poulain, which houses artworks by Monet. Near the town lies Claude Monet’s famous gardens in Giverny.
