Day One

Depart from your local area this morning for our Channel crossing to France. Continuing on through to Germany, we should arrive at your hotel during the early evening.

Day Two

Today we head to the historic city of Aachen, sometimes known as the Spa of the Kings on account of the 'healing' thermal spa-waters of the Elisa Fountain. A visit to the city's magnificent and ancient UNESCO World Heritage cathedral is a must, as is trying the local culinary delicacy - Printen - a hard, spicy biscuit. You can even find out how it's made by visiting the Printen museum!

Day Three

This morning sit back and relax on our scenic tour as we visit the breathtakingly scenic Ahr Valley, with its vineyards and historic picture-book spa towns such as Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler.

In the afternoon we head to the delightful town of Konigswinter where a ride on the Drachenfels cog railway will take us to the magnificent multi-turreted Drachenburg Castle. See the living and reception rooms which have been restored to their original splendour and take time for a stroll in the extensive grounds which offer unforgettable views over the Rhine. After plenty of time to explore, we return to our hotel after a long but memorable day.

Day Four

After a leisurely start we head to the Rhineland capital, Cologne where an included guided tour on the 'Bimmelbahn' Road Train will introduce you to the city's key sights such as the iconic twin-spired Gothic cathedral, surrounded by the cobbled streets of the historic altstadt which is crammed with shops, cake-selling Konditorei and bars where you can sample the city's famous Kolsch beer. Spend the rest of the day exploring at leisure, and enjoy an early evening meal (payable locally) before we return to our hotel this evening.

Day Five

We begin our journey home after breakfast. Crossing the Channel during the mid afternoon, you should arrive back in the local area during the mid-to-late evening.
