Home to the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park and several stunning regional parks, the Dolomites are a mountain range that have always captured the imagination.
Their name comes from the carbonate rock dolomite, which has a pale colour that inspired the range’s nickname, the “Pale Mountains”. There are a number of geological formations that make Dolomites holidays such an enticing choice for the nature lovers, but even if you prefer to spend your trips relaxing instead of climbing up jagged peaks, you will have plenty to do.
Dolomites tours can whisk you through all the natural highlights, and then to some of the surrounding towns where you can indulge in spas, swimming, and exceptional food.
With that said, there is so much to do here it can almost feel impossible to plan a Dolomites holiday. The Gardena Pass is a particularly special spot to wander through, being beautiful yet barren. With so much to do, let Newmarket Holidays take some of the weight off and organise a trip to the Dolomites for you.

From sparkling lakes to colourful alpine villages - this part of Italy is truly unique.
Half egg-nog and half brandy, topped with cream – is a favourite local tipple.
If you don’t quite know what you want to eat, a ‘rifuge’ can be your refuge. These small mountain huts are dotted around, with each offering a wonderful taste of local dishes alongside excellent views.
While food from this region has many influences, it’s fair to say a common favourite is Casunziei all’Ampezzana. This beetroot ravioli oozes with butter and ricotta and is lightly spiced with poppy seeds.
