Including two transits of the famous Kiel Canal, this spring cruise from Poole features several rarely visited Baltic ports. See the stunning Hanseatic port-city of Wismar; two picture-book Scandinavian islands; Lithuania’s historic third city, Klaipéda; and the great Polish maritime city of Gdansk. It also includes a scenic cruise through the Dutch waterways to Ijmuiden, gateway to the lovely, colourful city of Haarlem.
Rest and relax aboard Astoria as she makes a daytime passage through the Kiel Canal to Wismar where you'll discover an old town and market square watched over by a towering red-brick cathedral. Two idyllic isles – Danish Bornholm and Swedish Gotland – are followed by a visit to Klaipéda, where you'll be able to explore the city’s unspoiled old town or join some fascinating shore excursions. Next comes Gdansk, on its beautiful bay, and its lovingly restored medieval heart. Charming, Danish Fredericia, gateway to Hans Christian Andersen’s birthplace of Odense, a second passage through the Kiel Canal and the last Dutch call in Ijmuiden, complete your wonderful spring voyage.
