Cruise across the Atlantic
Fly from London to Cancun, Mexico, to join glittering Magellan on this very special springtime cruise, soaking up the glorious sunshine of a collection of blissful Caribbean islands as she sails from the sparkling waters of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, crossing the Atlantic and calling at Madeira and Lisbon as she makes her lazy way back to London.
Life on board Magellan
There's far more to Magellan than we could possibly fit on this page. Click below to find out more about her cabins, restaurants and other excellent facilities.
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Day One: Join Magellan in Mexico
Fly out to Cancun, and join Magellan in Cozumel.
Day Two: At sea
Spend time relaxing on board as Magellan sails through the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea - the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the ship's many amenities.
Day Three: George Town, Grand Cayman
Today Magellan stops in George Town, Grand Cayman. Choose from a range of optional tours, including the best scuba diving in the kaleidoscopic Caribbean Sea, or simply stretch out on the glimmering white sands at Seven Mile Beach or stroll the shops, cafes, and museums in George Town.
Day Four: Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Enjoy a day relaxing on the delightful beaches of famous Ocho Rios, situated on Jamaica's north coast. Alternatively, join a shore excursion into the Blue Mountains, to dramatic Dunn’s River Falls or to Bob Marley's Mausoleum in the St Ann's Hills.
Day Five: At sea
Enjoy another lazy day on board.
Day Six: Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Historic, colonial Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, was the New World’s first European-style city and the burial place, it is claimed, of Christopher Columbus, who made it his Caribbean base. Several nearby beaches add to the pleasure of a call here.
Day Seven: Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Magellan arrives on the sun-kissed shores of the British Virgin Islands, anchoring in the historic harbour of Road Town. Spend the afternoon exploring this tiny capital, or join an optional shore excursion to beautiful Mount Healthy National Park.
Day Eight: Basseterre, St Kitts
St Kitts, together with its tiny sister Nevis, forms one of the world's smallest nations, and is as laid-back and traditionally West Indian as anywhere in the Caribbean. Step ashore in Basseterre to discover the island's stunning beaches, see the restored plantation inns dotting the lush landscape or enjoy the breathtaking views from Brimstone Hill Fortress.
Day Nine: Bridgetown, Barbados
Spend Good Friday in Barbados’ capital, Bridgetown, gateway to palm-fringed beaches, plush hotels and exclusive shore-side restaurants. Today is sure to rank among the highlights of this wonderful cruise.
Day 10: Mayreau, Grenadines
Spend a lazy day dipping in and out of the blue water at tiny Mayreau, with its stunning beaches. Enjoy a beach barbecue, courtesy of the ship's chefs, or join an optional catamaran excursion to the Tobago Cays.
Days 11-17: At sea
Spend the weekend relaxing on board as Magellan heads for home, beginning her eastward Atlantic crossing as you make the most of life on board.
Day 18: Funchal, Madeira
Magellan reaches the sun-blessed shores of sub-tropical Madeira, to call in its colourful capital, Funchal. On this lush green island the wonderful Botanical Gardens are not to be missed, nor is an exhilarating wickerwork 'toboggan' ride from Monte to Livramento.
Day 19: At sea
Enjoy a restful day at sea as Magellan cruises still back towards mainland Europe.
Day 20: Lisbon, Portugal
Today Magellan calls in Portuguese capital Lisbon, from where the great explorers sailed to the New World. Enjoy an optional shore excursion through the maze of narrow, hilly streets of the historic Alfamar district, a striking contrast to the modern city's glass and steel.
Days 20-23: At sea
Enjoy three final blissful days at sea as Magellan cruises north on the final leg of this very special cruise.
Day 24: Arrive in London Tilbury
Arrive in London Tilbury, and (hopefully) early summer sunshine, at the end of your Transatlantic voyage.
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.
