Full Itinerary

Day One: Depart London Tilbury

Board Columbus and settle into your cabin before she cruises from Tilbury this afternoon.

Day Two: Amsterdam

The first stop on your cruise is Amsterdam. Spend the day in this wonderful city of canals, flower markets and museums. Wander the cobbled streets, or take to the water on a canal cruise or - if you're feeling energetic - on a self-pedalled canal 'bike'.

Day Three: At sea

Spend your first full day at sea enjoying Columbus' excellent on-board facilities and getting to know the crew and your fellow passengers.

Day Four: Lerwick

Our next port is the Shetland capital, Lerwick. Spend time exploring this rugged but enchanting town, or join an excursion to the 3,000 year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.

Day Five: Torshavn

Torshavn, the tiny capital of the Danish Faroe Islands, is Columbus' destination today. The Faroes are a birdwatchers’ paradise in the heart of the Gulf Stream, and their inhabitants live surrounded by natural beauty. Discover Torshavn’s confusion of lanes and narrow passages, black-tarred houses with turf roofs and modern centre, or join an excursion to another part of the islands, perhaps crossing the famous ‘Bridge across the Atlantic’, which connects the main island of Streymoy with smaller Eysturoy.

Day Six: Seydisfjordur

Today Columbus arrives in Iceland, stopping in the stunning natural harbour of Seydisfjordur, one of Iceland's most beautiful coastal locations. From here ferries and a sub-ocean telephone cable connect Iceland to the outside world. Wander the streets lined with Norwegian-style houses or head inland to discover yet more breathtaking countryside.

Day Seven: Akureyri

Akureyri, on Iceland's rugged north coast, is a thriving winter sports centre and home to a fascinating Botanical Garden. The area beyond is wondrously scenic, and today's excursion, to the Godafoss Falls and volcanic Lake Myvatn, will highlight many of its delights.

Day Eight: Isafjordur

This morning Columbus arrives in tiny, exquisite Isafjordur, the capital of the Westfjords area, and gateway to the magical, mystical land of West Iceland from which Norse sailors set out to discover Greenland and the New World.

Day Nine: Reykjavik

Reykjavik is the world's northernmost capital. Its brightly painted wooden buildings contrast sharply with the stunning beauty of its setting beneath Mount Ejsa. Step ashore to explore, take the lift to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visit the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum.

Days 10-12: At sea

Relax on board and relive the memories your cruise holiday as Columbus spends three final days at sea, heading home.

Day 13: Arrive London Tilbury

Bid farewell to Columbus and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
