Day One

Fly to Italy, and board our coach for the transfer to your hotel in Mirano, a quiet town just 12 miles inland from Venice itself.

Day Two

Today we visit Venice. Get a first taste of this astonishing city's canals, cobbled pathways and hidden squares on an included walking tour, then head off to explore, or relax, as you see fit. Cross the Rialto Bridge, step into St Marks Square, visit the Palace of the Doge and perhaps even sit back in a gondola or board the Vaporetto with the locals for a trip along the Grand Canal.

Day Three (Christmas Eve)

Our destination on today's optional excursion is Padua. Lovingly restored after WWII, this former Roman stronghold, is a delightful, enchanting university city with outstanding museums, great churches, colourful markets and - in Prato della Valle - Italy's largest town square.

This evening begin your celebrations with a special Christmas Eve dinner.

Day Four (Christmas Day)

Christmas Day begins with a breathtaking cruise on The Venetian Lagoon and a spectacular view of the city. Returning to your hotel, you'll sit down for a festive turkey lunch and then have the afternoon and evening free to relax until dinner.

Day Five

Set on the banks of the River Adige, Verona is home, not just to "Juliet and her Romeo", but to one of the world's best-preserved Roman amphitheatres, the cafe-crowded Piazza Bra and the maze of 13th-century streets surrounding bustling Piazza delle' Erbe.

Join our optional excursion and discover the brooding alleyways and hidden gardens that nurtured Shakespeare's story of "star-crossed lovers".

Day Six

Say goodbye to your hotel and hosts, today, and transfer back to the airport to check in for your flight home.

Villa Patriarca ★★★★

Converted from an 18th-century villa, this four-star hotel radiates comfort and warmth throughout.

Combining hotel transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Luggage Allowance

Please note that for two people travelling together on one booking, or a single traveler, one piece of hold luggage is included. Additional hold luggage may be purchased at the time of booking at a cost of £30 per bag.

Visit to find out the latest Foreign And Commonwealth Office travel advice for your holiday destination, as well as information about passports and visas.

Stourbridge Couple
Short break over Christmas to Venice, with additional visits to Padua, Verona and Burano. Excellent time of year to visit as uncrowded. Tour manager was courteous and considerate to all without being imposing. As a result the entire group were totally relaxed and we all got on well together. The staff at the hotel really looked after us.
Thank you all very much

Saffron Walden Couple
poorly organised and poor quality food at the hotel. Trip to Verona not good value for money. Tour leader constantly having to improvise. Hotel room adequate but poorly equipped.
