Deck Plans

Click here to display the deck plans for this cruise.

Day One

Board the coach from your chosen pick-up point and make the journey to Newcastle for our overnight sailing. Alternatively, meet us at the port and join the coach before we begin our crossing.

Day Two

Disembark the ferry this morning and make the onward journey by coach to Amsterdam, to join Olympia in time for dinner and a leisurely evening on board. This evening, Olympia slips out into the Markermeer to begin her journey.

Day Three

Today's interest-packed day begins in Hoorn, where you'll have time to explore the 17th-century town centre, before crossing the inland Markermeer, to Lelystad. An optional excursion this afternoon gives you the chance to explore Het Loo Palace, the former residence of the Dutch royal family, before Olympia sets sail into the Markermeer once more, to Zaandam. This attractive city has historic connections with Tsar Peter the Great, who lived here disguised as a humble ship-builder, as well as Claude Monet, who frequently painted its traditional windmills and colourful houses.

Day Four

Witness the Keukenhof Gardens in bloom on today's spectacular included excursion. This world-renowned floral display features over seven million multi-coloured bulbs that carpet the landscape. Spend the morning strolling through the grounds or take a boat ride (payable locally) along the small river running through their centre.

Re-join Olympia in Amsterdam during the afternoon, choosing to spend a leisurely final evening on board or opting to join the cheese and wine cruise along the city's famous canals, to see the sights of this picturesque city from the water.

Day Five

Bid farewell to Olympia and begin your journey home via the overnight DFDS Seaways sailing back to Newcastle.

Day Six

Arrive in Newcastle this morning, and make your way back to the local area by coach.

Further Information

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your driver will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Pre-paid drinks package

Spend just £17.50 per person per night, and enjoy unlimited draught beer, house wine and soft drinks (including water, tea and coffee) between 10am and midnight while on board Olympia. All other drinks are not included. The drinks package must be purchased by every person occupying a particular cabin.

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

*This offer applies to new bookings made between 24th February and 14th April 2017 (inclusive) only. Prices shown when booking do not include the discount. The discount amount will be added to your booking once the promo code has been entered and will be confirmed before purchase. Single cabin full fares will be discounted by 25 per cent when the promo code is applied. The offer may not be used in conjunction with any other offer, and may be withdrawn at any time.

Whitley Bay Couple
Very good apart from tour manager and ongoing issue with cabin ventilation which caused ongoing foul air. The driver was excellent. All good

we only had 2 hours at kuekenhof gardens, which was certainly not enough, when this was supposed to be the highlight of the holiday.
then in the afternoon we spent the rest of the time mooching about in amsterdam where we had already spent plenty time on other days.
