The glacial treasures of Alaska and the enchanting Rocky Mountains become the striking backdrop to a remarkable tour and cruise escape.
Witness the best of North America’s timeless natural beauty with a journey taking in the alpine towns, coastal cities and breath-taking mountain vistas of Canada and Alaska. Your tour will take you into the heart of the Rocky Mountains for a three-night stay in Banff. With a host of memorable optional excursions, you’ll enjoy the ideal introduction to this spectacular region before witnessing idyllic Lake Louise followed by a drive on one of the world’s most scenic roads, the Icefields Parkway. The charming mountain town of Jasper is your next stop, and you’ll discover some of the best views of the Rockies, with an optional tour to picturesque Maligne Lake, with the Jasper Skytram cable car. Next, board the world-famous Rocky Mountaineer for a truly memorable panoramic rail journey through the Rockies’ most dramatic alpine landscapes. With SilverLeaf service included as standard and GoldLeaf upgrades available for a supplement, you can make the most of unobstructed views, courtesy of each cabin’s glass-domed roof, and enjoy expert insight from your dedicated onboard Hosts.
You’ll then arrive in coastal Vancouver, nestled beneath the imposing North Shore Mountains, ahead of an optional guided tour of the city’s waterfront landmarks. You’ll then board your acclaimed Holland America Line ship for the first of seven nights at sea. Begin your cruise with a sailing through the Inside Passage, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the untamed coastline and diverse local wildlife as you sail past. Juneau, the pretty Alaskan capital, which will be your first port of call and offers exquisite views of the nearby Mendenhall Glacier. Skagway is next, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region’s gold-rush history with its period buildings and museums, ahead of a cruise across the magnificent Glacier Bay. Embrace lumberjack traditions and the indigenous heritage of Ketchikan before sailing back to Vancouver, where you’ll have a final morning at leisure.
