Fly to Scotland to meet our Tour Manager. Once on board the coach, we head towards the Culloden Battlefield, where you'll be transported back in time to one of the most significant battles in Scottish history. Learn about the Jacobite rising of 1745 and the fateful battle that took place here with your guide. During your visit, you’ll be led through the eerie moorland and stand where the brave Jacobite soldiers once stood, fighting for their beliefs. Continue to your hotel in Strathpeffer for an overnight stay.

Today, we head west to our first visit of the day, the picturesque village of Achnasheen. Continue to Victoria Falls, named after Queen Victoria, who visited in 1877. This national nature reserve offers some of the best scenery in the region. 

Continue to Inverewe Gardens, a lochside garden which was created by a father and daughter on the barren Atlantic Coast. There will be an opportunity to spot red squirrels, red deer, sea otters and maybe Golden or Sea eagles. On your visit, you will even view the Giant California Redwoods, which Inverewe is renowned for. Stay overnight in Gairloch for one night.

Early this morning, you’ll head to Ullapool to catch the ferry to Stornoway.

After two and a half hours sailing, you’ll arrive in Stornoway and begin explorations of this pretty capital of Lewis and Harris. Check into the Cabarfeidh Hotel or the Caladh Inn Hotel, where dinner will be served this evening.

Though a single landmass, Lewis and Harris have their own distinct identities and landscapes and you'll see the best of both today. Harris is an island split in two - high mountains and rocky coastline to the east; unspoilt Atlantic beaches to the west. Set out for Rodel Church, possibly the grandest medieval building in the Western Isles, and explore the little port of Tarbert.

Back amid the rolling moorland and freshwater lochs of Lewis you'll visit the standing stones of Calanais - 50 ancient stones arranged in rays around a central ring and easily the most mysterious sight in the islands - stop at Carloway Broch, a 2000-year-old fortified dry-stone tower, and visit the reconstructed Black House at Arnol, inhabited until 1965 - for a fascinating insight into the lives of the islands' past inhabitants.

Board a ferry in Leverburgh for a one-hour scenic sailing to Beneray. From here we'll drive and check into your next hotel.

This morning, join your local guide and cross the causeway to South Uist, the Western Isles' second largest island. Stunningly beautiful, the island is a stronghold of the Gaelic language. Here, the crofting industries of peat cutting and seaweed gathering are still an important part of everyday life.

Visit the Kildonan Museum, which introduces the island's archaeology and history, and includes a collection of South Uist artefacts. You'll then cross the 1650m-long causeway to the idyllic island of Eriskay (just three miles by two), immortalised in Compton Mackenzie's bestselling novel 'Whisky Galore'.

Set sail this morning for the one-hour 30-minute crossing from Lochmaddy to Uig. After reaching the Isle of Skye, head towards Dunvegan Castle - stronghold of the chiefs of MacLeod for nearly 800 years, and said to be the oldest continuously occupied 'family home' in Scotland. Discover its fascinating history, and wander the beautiful formal gardens that lie hidden amid the surrounding moorland and mountains.

Continue to explore Portree. Admire the dramatic scenery and delightful white and colour-washed buildings around the harbour, browse the shops, and find out about the local environment at the town's exhibition. With time permitting, take a break at famous Eilean Donan Castle on the shores of Loch Duich. After a photo opportunity, you'll head towards Strathpeffer for your final night’s stay in Scotland.

This morning, visit the turreted Brodie Castle, the ancestral home of the Brodie clan for over 400 years and a treasure trove of priceless antiques and artefacts. The castle building reflects the changing needs of the residents over the centuries – from the impenetrable 16th-century guard chamber to a sprawling Victorian extension with some magnificent rooms. A guided tour will help you make the very most of your visit. The beautiful grounds, which boast a dazzling display of daffodils in the spring, are also well worth exploring.

 After your visit, you will journey back to the airport to catch your flight home.
