Settle into a historic wine estate in the heart of the Cape Winelands, and spend your days out discovering Franschhoek, the Cape Peninsula coastline, and the sights of Cape Town.
Designed for wine and food lovers who'd rather immerse themselves in one place than keep moving on, this unhurried, small-group holiday is based at a beautiful Cape Dutch wine estate. It pairs wine, food, and landscapes with some of South Africa's best-known highlights. Start with a flight to Cape Town, then travel to Webersburg Wine Estate on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, your elegant home for seven nights. The farm was established in 1693 and its Cape Dutch homestead and cellar date back to 1786, so wine has been made here for more than 200 years. You'll be welcomed with a tasting, and the next morning you'll tour the vineyards before sampling the estate's classic range. A free daily shuttle runs into Stellenbosch, South Africa's second-oldest town, if you'd like to explore on your own.
From there, the days mix outings with slow time on the estate. On one day, follow the breathtaking curves of Chapman's Peak Drive to Cape Point Nature Reserve and the African penguins of Boulders Beach. On another, try a chocolate and wine tasting, and the evening will end with a braai, South Africa's much-loved tradition of cooking over open coals. Then, cross the hills to Franschhoek, a valley shaped by French Huguenot settlers, with the option to ride the Franschhoek Wine Tram between vineyards. Back at Webersburg, try your hand at making your own blend before an afternoon picnic among the vines. Your final full day is in Cape Town, where you'll explore the harbourside V&A Waterfront and the brightly painted Bo-Kaap, with the option to ride the cable car up Table Mountain.
