Your Cruise Ship: Magellan

Welcome aboard sleek, contemporary Magellan. With a total passenger capacity of less than 1500, yet with all the amenities of a larger cruising ship, well-appointed Magellan offers an intimate and traditional small-ship cruising experience, exclusively for adults.

Given Magellan's extensive range of on-board facilities, as well as her friendly, attentive CMV crew, life on board promises to be comfortable and relaxed. All voyages begin in the UK, and the range of departure ports around England and Scotland that you can choose from means that joining your cruise couldn’t be easier.

Magellan's extensive collection of cruising itineraries will take you to destinations across Europe – including the Norewegian Fjords, the Baltic Cities, Scandinavia, the Mediterranean and the British Isles – or on transatlantic voyages to the Caribbean and the Amazon. Wherever you choose to go, you are assured of a memorable holiday.

Magellan by day

At each port of call, you’ll have the opportunity to explore on a range of optional shore excursions in the company of friendly, professional tour guides. Full details and prices will be supplied well in advance of departure so that you can book your place. For those wishing to decide closer to the time, there are nearly always places available up to a few days prior to your arrival in any given port.

When on board, a full programme of events and activities organised by the Cruise Director ensures there’s never a dull moment. Learn about the destinations visited on your cruise at a port lecture, enjoy talks from guest speakers, develop your skills at a craft workshop, or keep fit at an exercise or dance class. Full details of the events are published in the Daily Bulletin delivered to your cabin each day, and you’re free to join in as much or as little as you wish.

One of the real delights of cruising is having the opportunity to relax and unwind. And if it’s peace and tranquillity you seek there are plenty of quiet corners into which you can escape. Enjoy a pamper session at the on-board spa and wellness centre, which is equipped with three pools and Jacuzzis, and offers a range of health and beauty treatments, as well as hairdressing services. Elsewhere, choose to recline on a lounger and soak up the sunshine on Amundsen Deck, or curl up with a book in the Livingstone Library.

Magellan by night

Perhaps you’ll choose to begin your evening with a pre-dinner drink at one of Magellan’s welcoming lounge bars, many of which boast panoramic picture windows for soaking up the sea views. Enjoy a sundowner cocktail at the Captain’s Club or Churchill’s, or listen to soothing piano music at Sinatra’s.

For your evening meal, opt for formal dining at the Waldorf or Kensington restaurants, or choose a more casual setting at the Raffles Buffet Bistro, which offers lighter meals and alfresco dining on warm days. Healthy options are always offered, and those with special dietary requirements can easily be catered for (with prior notification).

Settle in for an evening of dazzling performances at the Magellan Show Lounge, where talented singers, dancers, musicians and comedians deliver first-class entertainment. Here you can also enjoy themed evenings, which are often linked with the destinations visited on your cruise. Afterwards there's the chance to continue the fun at Scott’s nightclub, or try your luck at Casino Royale.
