Full Itinerary

Day One

Make your way to Tilbury and board Columbus before she sails this afternoon. Settle into your comfortable cabin, make use of the amenities on board and get to know your fellow passengers before your first dinner on board.

Day Two

Wonderful Amsterdam, with its picturesque canals and step-gabled buildings, never fails to delight. Explore the city, and perhaps visit the renowned Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum.

Days Three to Five

Spend three days at sea enjoying Columbus's on-board amenities. On Christmas Day (Day Five), enjoy the celebrations in the company of your fellow passengers, being looked after by the Captain, crew and entertainment team.

Day Six

Spend today in the British outpost of Gibraltar in the shadow of the famous Rock. Explore Main Street, and take a cable car to the heights above to see the famous Barbary Apes, and the views across the Straits to North Africa and the Atlas Mountains.

Day Seven

Spend today relaxing as Columbus heads out into the Atlantic.

Day Eight

Reaching Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, Columbus will call at the island's principal port, Santa Cruz. Here you can experience 'the whole world in one day' - swim in warm waters, throw snowballs on the slopes of Mt Teide, and shop in the capital's glitzy shopping malls. There will also be a range of optional excursions on offer.

Day Nine

Step ashore at Arrecife on Lanzarote. This sun-baked and colourful holiday isle, with its black sand beaches, offers opportunities to head to 'fire mountain' and to take a camel ride to the edge of a volcano.

Day 10

The great trading port of Las Palmas is gateway to Gran Canaria. Explore modern Puerto de la Luz or head to the the old town Vegueta's palm-fringed squares. An optional excursion inland will take in some superb views.

Day 11

Wander the wonderful Botanical Gardens or take an exhilarating wickerwork 'toboggan' ride (from Monte to Livramento) as Columbus visits Funchal, capital of sun-blessed, sub-tropical Madeira, today.

Day 12 (New Year's Eve)

Enjoy a restful and relaxing day at sea, then join the celebrations as the crew, staff and your fellow passengers mark the end of 2017 and the start of the New Year.

Day 13

The Portuguese capital, Lisbon, stands on the River Tagus down which the great adventurers Dias and Da Gama sailed during the Age of Exploration. Today's shore excursion will introduce the city, where the maze of narrow, hilly streets of the Alfamar district seem to have remained unchanged for centuries.

Days 14-15

Spend two final days at sea as Columbus returns to the UK.

Day 16

Disembark, bid farewell to the ship and her crew, and make your way home.

i went on the maiden voyage 14th of june 17 to the norwegion fyords with my friend. it was great. cabin, service, food professionalism of crew, in all aspects, including cruise director with the entertainment team was just great. that is why i rebooked the xmas cruise for myself n my husband.

in all aspects it was so disappointing, since june gone downhill. is CMV making shortcuts and cutbacks????

Food hall needs to be rethought. People with hot and cold food walking around with no direction. When you do get your food no tables due to people reading at the table.

This was my first cruise,I Would really like to do it again. I really liked the fact that the "Columbus" was not one of the enormous ships that we saw. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

Westcliff on Sea Couple
Ship very nice. Cabin great thanks for upgrade. Entertainment not as good as other cruise lines lack of guest entertainers. Food very good. Service slow in restaurant. Weather a little disappointing in a couple of the ports. Gran Canaria and especially Madeira very good. Disembarkation at Tilbury was chaotic.
Not sure I would do a long cruise with Cruise &Maritime again.
