Full Itinerary

Day One

Board Magellan in Tilbury today, and settle in to your cabin as she prepares to set sail.

Day Two

Spend today relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.

Day Three

Stylish Copenhagen, home to the famous Tivoli Gardens and forever associated with Hans Christian Andersen, is a marvellous city. Join the optional shore excursion to discover the world famous Little Mermaid, the Royal Palace and the grand stores that line the Stroget.

Day Four

This morning Magellan arrives in Warnemunde. Discover the port's charming gabled houses and historic Neuer Markt, or join the optional excursion to Berlin to discover the city's highlights - from the Brandenburg Gate and the 1926 Olympic Stadium to Hitler's Bunker and Checkpoint Charlie.

Day Five

Relax on board as Magellan spends another day at sea.

Day Six

Today we'll arrive in beautiful Tallinn. Step back in time as you explore the enchanting Estonian capital with its perfectly preserved old town, winding cobblestone streets full of storybook houses, steepled churches and ancient buildings, all watched over by Toompea Castle.

Days Seven and Eight

Magellan will spend two days in St Petersburg, one of the world's most glorious cities. Explore its incomparable Hermitage Museum, stroll down its wide canal-side boulevards, and soak up the modern 'European' atmosphere. You'll have the chance to explore the city's Haymarket, familiar from scenes in Dostoyevsky's novels, to gaze in awe at the opulence of the Mariinsky Theatre, home to the world-renowned Kirov Ballet, and to visit the famous Summer Palace at Petrodvorets.

Day Nine

Step ashore to explore Helsinki, Finland's elegant capital. Explore the harbour-side fish market, take a stroll in nearby Esplanade Park, and don't miss the monumental neo-Classical buildings of stunning Senate Square, which have played the part of Moscow in many Cold War movies.

Day 10

Magellan will call at Nynashamn this morning, and you'll have the chance to head to Stockholm. Best explored on foot, the Swedish capital spans 14 islets and boasts a wonderful mix of historic sights and fine city parks. Its ancient heart is Gamla Stan, a beguiling labyrinth of cobbled streets, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Days 11-12

A final few days are spent at sea, no doubt reliving the memories your cruise holiday as Magellan heads for home.

Day 13

Bid farewell to Magellan and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.

An oldish ship, rather tatty in places but clean. Cabin quite generous in size with refurbished shower room. Always hot water but meagre toiletries. Cabin serviced twice daily. Food got monotonous and was canteen standard, but plenty of it. The evening dinners were a bit more exciting with plenty of choice. Entertainment old fashioned song and dance with reasonably funny comic. Some good lectures on sea going days. Plenty of things to do if you wanted. Excursions very expensive and if you have the confidence you could Do It Yourself (except St Petersburg) however all the guides were excellent and we did get to see a lot. The crew in all departments were excellent.

If you get a discount as we did this was very good value for money and enjoyable. As long as you are realistic in your expectations you will have a very good holiday

Hitching Couple
Cruise ship was great. My only drawback was the safety of the shore excursions. We alighted the coach in St Petersburg onto broken pavement with a deep channel below the coach step. Followed by a hundred yard scramble across an assault course to get to the river boat. Result, badly sprained ankle for wife and holiday somewhat spoiled. Would probably use a another (safer) company when booking another cruise holiday.

There was a change of itinary before sailing which was incomprehensible. They should have known size of ship re. Kiel Canal. In the event we did not even go to Stockholm and I did not believe the reason given i.e. Bad weather. I think it was all due to expense and incompetence in planning. Helsingborg was no recompense for lack of Stockholm. No, I would not book with C and M again. The time in ports was too short to give any real enjoyment of the places visited (except St.Pet. which I had also visited before).
I would value your comments.
