Resort Information

Santa Susanna lies in the heart of a picturesque coastline of rocky coves, quaint fishing villages, golden beaches and attractive resorts. It is especially beautiful in the winter time, when the summer crowds have long gone.

Day One

Travelling by comfortable coach, today we'll leave your pick-up point and make our way to the Channel. We'll continue through France, and break the journey with an overnight stay in a convenient hotel.

Day Two

Today you'll arrive in Santa Susanna, at the Caprici Verd Hotel. Spend the rest of the day exploring the town or enjoying the hotel's leisure facilities.

Day Three (Christmas Eve)

Barcelona is one of Europe's 'must-see' cities. Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia, the Gothic Quarter, renowned pedestrian street La Rambla, and 1992 Olympic Games sites are amongst its highlights. Hunt for last-minute gifts in a famous shopping Mecca and discover delightful Catalan Christmas traditions.

In the evening, enjoy a special Christmas Eve meal at your hotel.

Day Four (Christmas Day)

Celebrate Christmas morning with a tour of the beautiful 'wild coast', discovering quaint fishing towns and a dramatic coastline. Continue a magical Christmas Day with a four-course Christmas Day lunch accompanied by wine and music.

Day Five

An optional excursion today brings the chance to visit the fabled monastery at Montserrat. A centuries-old place of pilgrimage, the mountainside monastery is accessible by a winding road or a cable-car, and the views from its lofty perch are outstanding.

Day Six

Bid Santa Susanna farewell and board the coach to begin your homeward journey. Once again, we'll spend the night in a comfortable hotel in France.

Day Seven

Today you'll continue your journey back to the UK, crossing the Channel and continuing back to your original pick-up point.

Further Information

Meet at port option

To give you greater flexibility and allow you to travel on the date that suits you best, you may like to meet the coach at Folkestone Services (called Stop 24) on the M20, which is just a five-minute drive from the Channel Tunnel and a 15-minute drive from Dover. If you wish to do this, please select the county 'Kent' and the pick-up point 'Stop 24 Folkestone Services Saltwood' when booking. You will be notified of the exact pick-up location in your Final Travel Details, which you will receive approximately 7-10 days prior to departure. Further information and car parking charges can be found at

European Christmas Closing Times

Shops in Europe will generally be closed from early afternoon on Christmas Eve until 27th December.

Coach seating arrangements

Your Tour Manager will have allocated seats for you on the main coach in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible, and will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Your journey

Depending on your departure point, you may leave your pick-up point very early in the morning and return very late at the end of the holiday, in order to meet your scheduled Channel crossing. There will also be a stop to transfer you from a feeder coach to your main coach, on both the outward and return journeys.

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Meal arrangements

Where meals are not included, your Tour Manager will ensure there are suitable stops made for you to purchase and enjoy lunch and/or dinner each day.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Ferry/Eurotunnel crossings

Your Channel crossings will either be by ferry or Eurotunnel and will be confirmed with your final travel documents.

Wiltshire Couple
Journey to Santa Susanna took a long time. However, in all fairness, the resort is 800 miles from Calais.
Enjoyed the hotel and the food; the latter could have been hotter, though.
Generally we had a good time.

Dorchester Couple
The hotel was cold in the public areas, though the bedroom was warm and comfortable. The dining room was more like we would think of as a factory canteen, the food was cold, the plates were cold and the food was mediocre.
They did their best for the Christmas lunch in decorating the tables, which was appreciated, but the food and plates were still cold. In spite of this the staff were excellent and created a happy time for us.

Leeds Couple
We enjoyed ourselves. The meals were pleasant as were the hotel staff, the excursions were interesting and we travelled through some spectacular countryside. I am lucky I am deaf because I missed a lot of the complaints and moans of the other vicious and vituperative travellers. There were many misfortunes which were not the fault of the hapless Welsh Tour Guide (where were the team briefings to support the guides) and were quite funny such as getting lost and turning round by a shrine to St Christopher.

Cambridge Couple
Once we got to Spain all was very nice but the two day journey of 28 hours was horrific! The motorway four stops were just grubby and there was no organised plan for the particular stops.
No coffee/tea service on the coach and were told not to use the toilets only in an emergency - with the average age of about 70 travelling those long hours need I say more! Lovely scenery through France and the highlight for us was the Montserrat trip. Great work done by the hotel staff Christmas day.

The period of the time spent in the resort should be extended to take in the New Year giving a greater time to compensate for the amount of travelling.
The change over of coaches was a disgrace You were expected to queue to get to get your suit cases from the feeder coach which for us was number 4 then find your way to the designated number 9 coach to continue onto the Spanish resort. Very little help and assistance was available even though we were expected to trundle our luggage with us in the dark along with the rest of the passengers Fortunately it was not raining at the time. Eventually we managed to locate and board the designated coach and find our seat. However we were told that the toilet on the coach was not to be used. How disgraceful was that. We have travelled to Spain by coach on a number of occasions over the Christmas and New Year period with your competitors and always enjoyed the experience Not so this time, so in consequence we will not be using Haymarket Holidays in the future.

Margate Couple
The toilet on the coach was out of order for the 2 day drive to resort. There was only one driver (other coaches had two) we nearly ran into the back of a tanker on journey home and on entering a rest stop we went the wrong way round a roundabout. We did not have drinks on board until homeward bound and then nobody to make them. It was apparent on the excursion to Monsaret that we got lost as we were an hour behind the other coaches and we missed at least one turn off and when we did finally arrive half of the facilities were shut and no choir as it was boxing day and the fiicular was not working. The Tour Manager was a nice chap but lacked experience of this type of holiday.
