Today will be spent exploring Rüdesheim, the heart of Rhine Romanticism, which once inspired poets and musicians. Brahms composed his 3rd symphony in Rüdesheim. While here, be sure to try ‘Rüdesheimer Kaffee’, which was invented here and is a must-try over the festive period.

In the early evening, the ship will continue towards Mainz, where you'll have the evening free to explore the city's Christmas markets, footed at the 1,000-year old St Martin's Cathedral.

This morning, A-ROSA AQUA will arrive in Frankfurt, which is home one of Germany's oldest and largest Christmas markets. The market has been a staple of Frankfurt's festive celebrations since 1393, and you'll enjoy an included excursion showcasing the variety this city has to offer, from its modern skyline to the charming old town.

Visit the quaint Sachsenhausen neighbourhood with its apple wine taverns, Romerberg market square, Hauptwache, and Saint Paul's Church, the backdrop to Frankfurt's Christmas market every year.
