Discover the ancient heritage of three Southeast Asian treasures with a journey along the Mekong Delta.
Set off on an extraordinary journey through Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, starting with a stay in the Thai capital, Bangkok. Experience the Royal Island's Buddhist shrines and the floating markets of Damnoen Saduak, with the option to pay a visit to the River Kwai's 'Death Railway', an infamous route used by imperial Japan in WWII. Fly on to Cambodia and the temple town of Siem Reap, where you'll visit the rural Kok Sangke community before an exploration of the ruins of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple's intricately carved heads and the world-famous Angkor Wat. Continue to Battambang for an overnight stay immersed in the city's rich French colonial architecture, calling at Wat Ek Phnom and the Cambodia Peace Gallery.
Onward to Phnom Penh for two nights, taking in the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda before an excursion to the Tuol Sleng Museum. Board a fast boat along the winding Mekong Delta into Vietnam, waking up in Chau Doc for a day's discovery across the foothills of Nui Sam, a sacred mountain studded with pagodas. Continue to Can Tho, a university town known for its colourful floating markets, before a boat ride to the markets of Cai Rang and Cai Be en route to Ho Chi Minh City. Delve into the infamous Cu Chi tunnels and head into the city's bustling centre for a tour of its most historic sites.
