Where stories begin
Named for one of Britain’s most celebrated female adventurers, and in honour of pioneering women of the world, magnificent Amy Johnson, the latest addition to the CMV fleet, is also the largest and grandest vessel in the line, offering every modern comfort, yet retaining the friendly service and traditional values that have characterised her fleet-mates over the course of the past decade and more.
Amy Johnson weighs in at 70,000 tonnes, measures over 800 feet from elegant stem to stern, and offers, across her 11 decks, everything to ensure that life aboard is a pleasure from start to finish. Carrying an average of 1400 passengers, the ship offers an overall sense of spaciousness, especially in the three-tiered central Atrium, in the near 700-seat, fully equipped Palladium show lounge, and on her wonderful top decks, crowned by the Dome Observatory & Nightclub.
Originally built in Italy in 1991 and extensively refurbished in 2017, Amy Johnson will undergo further modifications prior to joining the line in April 2021, providing yet more cruising comforts on an extensive programme of exciting itineraries from London Tilbury from late May, when she arrives in her new home port following her Maiden Voyage from Singapore.
As befits the flagship of the line, Amy Johnson will offer everything necessary to ensure wonderful days and enchanted nights aboard. In addition to her spacious public areas, which will include several lounges and bars, a delightful main Waterfront restaurant, a less formal bistro, Taverners’ ‘pub’ and two speciality dining rooms, including The Orient grill, will tantalise your taste buds. Pools, hot tubs, a gym and even a Top Deck exercise track will balance the calorie intake, while a fully equipped Jade Wellness Centre spa and vast deck spaces cater for your rest and relaxation pleasures. For the less energetic, a well-stocked library, dedicated Trumps & Aces card room and an area set aside as a Crafters’ Studio are all traditional hallmarks of the line.
Nearly 800 well-appointed guest cabins provide a warm welcome at each day’s end, with over 400 offering ocean views, and an additional 130 a private balcony. 36 mini-suites and 14 suites offer even greater comforts and additional benefits, and the ship also offers 20 wheelchair-accessible rooms. A total of nine lifts ensure getting about the ship is easy.
