Full Itinerary

Day One

Make your way to Bristol and board Magellan for this afternoon's sailing.

Day Two

The first full day of your cruise is spent at sea. Get to know the ship and your fellow passengers, and make the most of the on-board amenities.

Day Three

Magellan reaches her first port of call today: the Dutch maritime city of Rotterdam. Step ashore to see the stunning architecture of the Erasmus Bridge and the remarkable Markthal food market. Browse the World-class museums, explore the lovingly preserved Old Harbour and stroll past nearby Delfshaven's step-gabled houses and ancient wharves.

Day Four

Spend another leisurely day at sea.

Day Five

This morning Magellan docks in sophisticated Copenhagen. Stroll the stylish streets, or enjoy an excursion taking in famous sights such as the famous bronze statuette of the 'Little Mermaid'. Watch the world go by from a harbour-side bar in Nyhavn, and don't miss the sculpted walkways of the world-famous Tivoli Gardens.

Day Six

Magellan arrives in Warnemunde, gateway to the city of Rostock, this morning. The city retains much of its medieval charm, but for many the main attraction of this stop will be our optional excursion to Berlin. Stroll from the arch of the Brandenburg Gate down Unter den Linden to explore the former East German sector. Browse the shops on the 'Ku'damm', and take in the various remnants of 20th Century conflict - from Hitler's Bunker to Checkpoint Charlie.

Day Seven

Spend today relaxing as Magellan heads east through the Baltic.

Day Eight

Almost impossibly beautiful, the Estonian capital Tallinn, with its enchanting and virtually pristine old town, is one of Europe's most scenic cities. Discover this timeless gem, with its winding cobbled streets of storybook houses, spectacular steepled churches, ancient buildings and Toompea Castle.

Days 9-10

Today Magellan docks in magnificent, historic St Petersburg for an overnight stay. Discover the incomparable Hermitage Museum, the Haymarket area of the city, still redolent with scenes from Dostoyevsky's novels, and the Mariinsky Theatre, home to the world renowned 'Kirov' Ballet. Your two days here will mean you'll also have the opportunity to visit the fabled Summer Palace at Petrodvorets.

Day 11

Step ashore, today, to explore the wonderful port city of Helsinki, where the City Hall overlooks the fresh fish stalls and historic, covered Market Hall in Market Square. Stroll through Esplanade Park, and take in the panoramic views of the city and the sea beyond from the cathedral tower before we set sail once more.

Day 12

Enjoy another relaxing day on board as Magellan sails back across the Baltic Sea.

Day 13

Settled for over 1000 years, Denmark's lively second city, Aarhus, is a delightful university seat boasting a cobbled old town of colourful shops, bars and cafes, all watched over by the imposing Gothic Domkirke cathedral, and is also home to a fascinating Viking Museum.

Days 14-15

Enjoy two days at sea, as Magellan begins her return journey.

Day 16

Magellan makes one final call in Cork's long, narrow Cobh harbour this morning. A shore excursion here offers you the chance to discover this historic capital of southwest Ireland. You might choose to head into the rolling countryside to fashionable Kinsale, famed for its fine food and sea-fishing, or to visit famous Blarney Castle, just north of the city.

Day 17

Magellan arrives back in Bristol at the end of a delightful Baltic cruise adventure.
