Your Itinerary

Day One: Included visit to York

Leaving the local area this morning we head to historic York. Enjoy the fabulous Christmas Fair that winds its way across the city with its traditional wooden stalls selling handcrafted gifts and speciality foods. Don't miss the ancient streets of the famous Shambles lined with timber framed buildings, and perhaps visit the beautiful Minster. After soaking up the festive atmosphere, enjoy an early evening meal (payable locally), before we continue to our overnight hotel.

Day Two: Included visit to Castle Howard

This morning, we head to Castle Howard. Set in 1000 acres of gardens and parklands, this historic house is transformed at Christmastime by towering Christmas trees, roaring fires and twinkling candles. Make your way around the rooms at leisure, marvelling at the fine porcelain, outstanding works of art and stunning collection of sculptures on display. Highlights include the grandeur of the Great Hall, the vivid Turquoise Drawing Room and the ornate chapel.

If the weather is fine, the beautiful garden is also well worth exploring. In the afternoon we'll begin the journey home, arriving back at your original pick-up point by mid to late evening.
