Highgrove Gardens Day Trip

A rare opportunity to visit the famous Royal private gardens

Enjoy a visit to HRH The Prince of Wales' cherished gardens at his country estate in the heart of Gloucestershire where, since 1980, His Royal Highness has transformed the formerly bleak landscape surrounding the house into one of the most creatively inspired layouts in Britain today - a 'must see' for any garden-lover, and definitely a rare horticultural treat.

Tour Highlights And Inclusions

  • Entry to Highgrove Gardens
  • A two-hour walking tour with one of the Prince of Wales's expert garden guides
  • Return coach travel from your pick-up point
  • The services of a friendly Tour Manager

Your Day-Trip Itinerary

Leaving the local area early this morning we'll travel into Gloucestershire, heading to Highgrove. We'll arrive at Highgrove in the mid-morning, and join one of HRH the Prince of Wales' expert guides for a two-hour tour of the gardens.

Normally reserved exclusively for his HRH the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall and their guests, the gardens are open to the public on just a few, exclusive days each year. Hear the history of the house and the stories behind the gardens' creation, and then perhaps stop for lunch in Highgrove's Orchard Restaurant and pick up a souvenir in the Estate shop before returning to the coach to begin the journey home.

We should arrive back at your pick-up point in the late afternoon.

Day trip to Highgrove Gardens extremely well organised on all fronts but one.

Why do the drivers insist on dashing to the services when they know the feeder transport is booked for 4pm and then everyone is left sitting on the bus for 45 minutes and the feeder passengers hanging around in the cold.

we then got to Magor services and they stopped for another 45 minute obligatory driver break. at this point I got my husband to come and fetch me. The poor people who started out at 5.30am must have been spitting feathers. Absolutely pointless and spoilt what was otherwise a really good trip.
