Join us on a holiday to Seattle

The largest city in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle is a beacon of modernity nestled in an untamed, rugged region.

Seattle holidays deliver on comfort and culture, but the city is also the perfect base from which to explore the natural splendour of states like Washington and Oregon, as well as having easy access to the Pacific Ocean. The most populous city in the State of Washington is also an easy drive from Cannon Beach in Oregon, a coastal city home to a long stretch of sandy shore perfect for escaping from it all.

Even if you don’t have the time or inclination to explore the wilds of the Northwest USA, holidays in Seattle still deliver on things to see and do, including natural highlights like the San Juan Islands, which are accessible by day trip from the city. In the bustle of Seattle there’s the world-famous Space Needle, a slew of excellent art and historical museums and cultural hubs like the Seattle Center, and the famous Pike Place Market. Downtown Seattle is buzzing during the day but really comes alive at night, with hundreds of restaurants and bars to try. No matter how you want to spend your Seattle city break, a Newmarket Holidays tour will ensure you hit all the important spots that make this part of the world so special.

Food and Drink in Seattle

Seafood is a seriously business up in the Pacific Northwest

In Seattle, it’s no different, in fact, it may be the home of some of the most delicious seafood in the country.

Any of the delights of the ocean are worth trying to scoff down, but oyster specialists in the city have a product so good that even those who are usually squeamish about this delicacy might be converted.

While there are a raft of fancy culinary delights to indulge in during your Seattle city break, one must-try dish is not the sort you’ll find in silver service restaurants: the Seattle-style hotdog. The dog is topped with cream cheese and sautéed onions, and it’s best eaten after the bars have closed.

Created in 1989, the coconut cream pie is a must-try on a visit to Seattle: especially since it's a city tradition!
