Sprawling over southern Utah, Bryce Canyon National Park is laden with unique geological features, hidden, mossy caves to explore, and trekking routes.

The Bryce Canyon hoodoos are probably the most famous part of the park: formed by frost weathering and steam erosion, these thin, multicoloured spires of rock shoot up from the ground and tower over their surroundings.

When it comes to things to do in Bryce National Park the list is endless. You can meander through the natural amphitheatres (despite its name, Bryce Canyon isn’t a canyon, but a collection of these giant spaces), or climb to the highest point at Rainbow Point (over two miles from sea-level). Mossy Cave is a verdant gem in the aridity of Bryce Canyon National Park. Complete with a waterfall and cavern, it’s the perfect place to escape into the shade, all while retaining the natural splendour of the rest of the park.

Things to do in Bryce National Park

Regardless of your fitness, the Queens Garden Trail is a delight. It’s not the longest walk, but this route gets you up close and personal with the interesting geological formations of Bryce Canyon, and is doable in just a few short hours.

Rainbow Point will take your breath away, and not just because it’s the highest peak in the park. From here you can see the multicoloured rock formations (hence the name) in all their glory, and, best of all, you can drive to it, so everyone can experience this astounding viewpoint.

The Rim Trail is a challenging but rewarding hike that allows you to see the highlight of the national park: Bryce Amphitheatre. The word ‘picturesque’ doesn’t accurately describe just how unforgettable the eponymous spot is.

The dining room at Bryce Canyon Lodge is open for all three meals a day, rustling up homemade, hearty dishes for intrepid explorers in the national park. Delivering fine dining alongside sandwiches and other takeaway options, they cater for all dietary requirements, and use locally sourced ingredients as much as possible.

Valhalla Pizzeria and Coffee shop is a more casual dining experience than the dining room at Bryce Canyon Lodge, but it doesn’t lack when it comes to quality. Pizzas are freshly made, piping hot, and delicious, all made using sustainable, Utah-reared ingredients.
