Beatles-inspired coach break in Liverpool
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of 'Hey Jude', 'Revolution' and the 'White Album' on a unique trip that relives the heady days of Merseybeat and the Fab Four. Enjoy a nostalgia-packed Beatles Coach Tour of the places where the history of popular music was changed forever, and take a journey on the legendary "Ferry 'cross the Mersey".
Leaving the local area in the morning, we'll head towards Liverpool and your hotel. After check-in you'll have the rest of the evening free to relax and unwind before dinner is served.
Day One: Travel to your hotel
Today we take a trip into Liverpool and step back in time to the rock 'n' roll days of the early 1960s. Our dedicated 'Beatles' guide will bring to life the world of Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane on a themed included coach tour.
Day Two: Beatles Coach Tour
See where John and Paul first met, where the quartet grew up and the poignant 'Eleanor Rigby' sculpture, then step inside the Cavern Club itself - one of Britain's most legendary music venues. The tour also includes a short stop at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral - where Paul McCartney failed to pass his audition to get into the choir! This mighty cathedral is Britain's largest, and is the fifth largest cathedral in the world.
After the tour, explore Liverpool at your own leisure. Perhaps find out more about John, Paul, George and Ringo at The Beatles Story - a "magical history tour" that includes innovative recreations of Abbey Road, the Casbah Coffee Club and even a Yellow Submarine. The city is also home to the UK's largest collection of museums and galleries outside of London; perhaps visit the TATE Liverpool or the World Museum, which in 2018 will temporarily house China's legendary Terracotta Warriors.
After a leisurely breakfast we'll return to Liverpool and board the "Ferry 'Cross the Mersey" to see the city from a whole new perspective. On this fascinating 50-minute cruise the informative on-board commentary will reveal the history behind some of the city's key landmarks.
Day Three: Take the 'Ferry 'Cross the Mersey'
Afterwards you'll have some free time in Liverpool before we begin our journey home, arriving back in the local area by mid-to-late evening.
Please note that in certain circumstances it may be necessary to change the order in which the itinerary is operated.
