A town as famous as the films and television shows it produces, Hollywood is the epicentre of Western on-screen culture.

Hollywood holidays can encompass anything from riding down the Sunset Strip to star-spotting on a Hollywood hills driving tour, but no matter what you do it’s sure to be sprinkled with a touch of stardust.

The entertainment industry reigns supreme in this corner of Los Angeles, and there are plenty of filming locations to check out from your favourite movies and shows. There’s also an outpost of the Universal Studios Theme Park here, so you’re not just limited to sightseeing if you visit.

Things to see in Hollywood

The Sunset Strip is full of things to do. With plenty of bars, restaurants, and other attractions to discover (including The Comedy Store and Roxy Theatre), you can spend an entire day traversing the street and still not see everything it has to offer.

A must-see for any Hollywood tourists are the famous stars that line Hollywood Boulevard. Not only can you see the names of your favourite actors and musicians immortalised, but you’ll also be just a short hop from the Chinese Theatre, where thousands of glitzy film premieres have taken place.

If you’re keen to spot some celebrities while being served like one, then head to The Ivy.

This famous restaurant, with outposts in a few other global cities, has long been a favourite of the glitterati, but even if it wasn’t it would still be worth a visit thanks to the excellent menu.

Being home to many of the elite, it makes sense that Hollywood is full to the brim with world-class restaurants. One of our favourites is Kali, which serves pan-European cuisine using local, fresh, seasonal ingredients, all prepared to the highest standards.

A Hollywood institution for nearly eighty years now, Boardners is both one of Hollywood’s best bars and the setting for numerous bar scenes in famous films, from L.A. Confidential to Leaving Las Vegas.
