Itinerary

Day One

Leaving the local area, this morning we'll head to Bridgnorth, where a funicular railway connects the High Town and the Low Town. Explore, and take in the spectacular views from the High Town, which Charles I described as "the finest in my domain", before we continue to our hotel for dinner.

Day Two

Today we'll travel through the sleepy Shropshire scenery to Ironbridge. Despite its reputation as the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution and the soaring arches of its famous bridge, Ironbridge is a pretty market town surrounded by lovely woodlands that run along Ironbridge Gorge.

Our second stop is Ludlow. Discover the town's magnificent Tudor and Georgian architecture, cobbled streets and market; visit St Laurence's Church; and perhaps explore the castle before we return to to hotel for dinner.

Day Three

This morning we'll head to Shrewsbury. Take a trip along the river, stroll around beautiful Quarry Park - designed by the late Percy Thrower - or visit Shrewsbury Abbey, home of fictional medieval detective Brother Cadfael.

We'll leave Shrewsbury in the afternoon, arriving back in the local area by mid evening.

Further Information

Coach seating arrangements

Your seats on the main coach will be allocated for you in advance, taking into consideration any special requests wherever possible. Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)

Joining your holiday

Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.

Triple rooms

The majority of these consist of a double bed and an extra bed that is often only suitable for children. If this is a concern, you may wish to consider booking more than one room for your group.

No time for any refreshments when changing coaches. On the whole a pleasant and enjoyable holiday.

The breakfasts were excellent, plentiful with a wide range of choice.

No lounge area in hotel.

Apart from the coach breaking down, seemed OK. The tour guide was a very pleasant person, I heard her contact you when we were delayed due to having an extremely disabled gentleman on the coach who held us up on several occasions, and whoever she spoke to on the telephone was extremely rude, we could hear him shouting, and it was NOT her fault. The excursions were well organised. For an inexpensive few days it was quite acceptable. I have no objection to disabled people having a holiday, but this gentleman, should be blacklisted, I dare say your tour guide informed you of his disgraceful behaviour.

The pick up coach was delayed for one and a half hours because of a mechanical failure and so our trip planned for that day was postponed until the return journey and presumably shortened . We spent over an hour in a garden centre.

The driver was excellent and one felt safe. The tour guide was also very good and gave us a lot of information about the places we visited. I have to say the hotel was also excellent so very satisfied with the whole trip.

Our driver and tour guide were very good though the tour guides time keeping was not always as good as the group. The hotel was great apart from a hick up on our first night but this was resolved by the second night and a free glass of wine certainly helped. The food was really good as was the room.
We visited some really interesting places and had plenty of time to explore.
