A must for all Coronation Street fans!
Brand new and only available on limited weekends in 2018! Don't miss your chance to step onto the largest working television set in the country and stroll down the famous cobbles of Coronation Street, home to the drama, laughter and tears of the award-winning ITV soap. You'll also enjoy a short tour of 'Last of the Summer Wine' country on this truly unmissable break!
Leaving the local area early this morning we head to the dramatic beauty of the Pennines, to enjoy a short tour of Last of the Summer Wine-country, taking in the little town of Holmfirth, stomping ground of Compo, Foggy and Clegg. Look out for Sid's Cafe and Nora Batty's steps, and perhaps have a cup of tea and slice of cake in the Wrinkled Stocking Tearoom, before we continue to our overnight hotel, arriving in good time for dinner.
After breakfast we head to MediaCityUK on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal, filming location for Coronation Street and home of Coronation Street, the Tour.
A short introductory video sets the scene before you join your knowledgeable Coronation Street guide for a walking tour through parts of Weatherfield.
Immerse yourself in familiar surroundings, visiting the external sets of Coronation Street, home of the famous Rovers Return; Rosamund Street with its Medical Centre; and Victoria Street where you'll find Audrey's hair salon, Roys Rolls, The Kabin, Webster's Auto Centre and Underworld.
Recall memorable moments from your favourite episodes and hear filming secrets of past story-lines, as you follow in the footsteps of the street's best-loved characters. There'll be plenty of photo opportunities before leaving the set.
Later, enjoy some free time in Salford Quays, home not only to MediaCityUK but also the Lowry Centre. Perhaps visit the Imperial War Museum, explore the area's numerous galleries, indulge in a spot of shopping or enjoy a leisurely lunch (not included) in one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars. We depart for home mid-afternoon, arriving back in your local area by mid-to-late evening, after a really memorable break.
Your Tour Manager or driver will advise you where to sit as you board the coach. This will be your seat for the duration of the tour. (Seats are not allocated on any connecting services to and from the main coach.)
Coach seating arrangements
Your final travel documents, including the exact time and place of departure, will be sent to you approximately 10 days prior to departure, providing all payments have been made. We are unable to give exact departure times before this.
