Join us on a holiday to Tallinn
Whether it’s waking at dawn to get the UNESCO-listed Old Town to yourself, or heading to one of the secret beaches, there are plenty of peaceful things to do in this Baltic city.
The city of Tallinn has got to be one of Europe’s best-kept secrets. The Estonian capital is situated in an idyllic location on the Baltic Sea, making it a fantastic summer spot, with a coastline stretching 29 miles. There are plenty of opportunities to swim at the beaches and enjoy water activities such as sea kayaking and boat tours. You can also pay a visit to Maarjamae Palace, a gorgeous seaside summer vacation spot constructed by a wealthy Russian count. The palace is also now home to the deeply informative Estonian History Museum.
In the winter, Tallinn comes alive with the very festive, very charming Christmas markets that are a fantastic treat for families. The festive market takes place in the city's atmospheric Town Hall Square, with cosy timber stalls selling local crafts and traditional food and drink offerings. In any season, Tallinn is a delightfully walkable city, with the UNESCO-listed Old Town being made up of delightful medieval ruins, underground tunnels and cobblestone lanes.
