Adriatic Cruise Itinerary

Day One: Fly to Italy

Fly into Venice, then head to the port to board your Adriatic cruise ship, Norwegian Star. Unpack and unwind in your cabin, then head out onto the deck to watch as Norwegian Star slips away from Venice this evening.

Day Two: Cruise to Dubrovnik

From a distance, beautiful, walled Dubrovnik emerges from the wooded Dalmatian Coast like a floating medieval fortress. Seen up close, it's a living museum. See the Sponza Palace, St Blaise's Church, and Europe's oldest pharmacy in the city's Franciscan monastery, or take in the views across the city and the surrounding coastline from the ramparts that surround the city.

Day Three: Cruise to Montenegro

Stunning Montenegro welcomes Norwegian Star today. See the Bay of Kotor - Southern Europe's largest fjord - and explore the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kotor itself.

Day Four: Optional Olympia day trip

The small port of Katakolon offers the chance to head inland to the remarkable sanctuary at Olympia - home for over a thousand years to the ancient Olympic Games. The remains of the great Temple of Zeus still dominate the site, and you can still enter the ancient stadium through the vaulted tunnel from the main sanctuary and think yourself back 2,500 years.

Day Five: Optional Acropolis guided tour

Join today's shore excursion to Athens and discover the ancient city's many wonders - from the iconic Acropolis and the ruins of the Parthenon to the elegant Temple of Athena and the great Erechtheion. You'll have time to explore at leisure before you return to the ship.

Day Six: Day at leisure

Spend today relaxing and enjoying Norwegian Star's excellent facilities as she cruises back into the Adriatic.

Day Seven: Cruise to Split

Today you'll discover Croatia's historic, vibrant second city, Split, where highlights include the colourful Old Town and marketplace, and the crumbling ruins of the palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian.

Day Eight: Fly back to the UK

Early this morning, Norwegian Star will cruise back into Venice Lagoon and you'll disembark, returning to the airport to board your flight home.

Transfer times

The transfer time from the airport to the cruise terminal is approximately 20 minutes.

Combining transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your cruise terminal. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your cruise terminal. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Airport development fees

An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.

Passport requirements

British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise. Since some countries require visitors to be valid for at least six months after the return date of the cruise we recommend that all customers ensure that this is the case. Holders of non-British passports should check with the relevant embassies to see if any requirements and restrictions exist for any countries visited during the cruise.

A great cruising experience. This was our first, so we cannot compare with other cruises. Many things to do on board. Excellent restaurants, pubs, entertainment. First class service. All very precisely organised to help perfect running of events. High standard of hygiene, therefore no sickness among holiday makers. Excursions are varied in length and price, but not essential in every port. This holiday was a relaxing and enjoyable way to visit such a beautiful region on the Adriatic.

Our holiday was ruined by the fact we waited 1and ahalf hours at the airport for your rep.then had to pull our luggage hundreds of yards and put it on the coach ourselves. At the other end we stood for at least two hours before we could embark.

Coming home same again no sign of rep or coach.Off shipat 8am coach appears at 9.30am.
Flight due to take off at 12.45am we were still waiting to check in.All in 32 degrees of heat.Your reps must know how slow Venice airport is and we should have got there early.
Never again.

It was our first experience of cruising. We loved it! We can't wait to do it again. The boat, the staff, the on board experience was wonderful.
We are thinking of going to the Caribbean next year. Any suggestions or recommendations?

Woodley, Berkshire Couple
Our first cruise, we were impressed with the ship and the facilities available.
An excursion around Athens was, we thought, unnecessarily long driving around the packed streets looking at buildings? we could have spent more time at the Acropolis!
