Itinerary

Day One

Catch the high-speed Eurostar from London St Pancras or Ebbsfleet to Amsterdam via Brussels. Join Olympia in the Dutch capital, arriving in time for dinner, before she slips away out into the Markermeer early in the morning.

Day Two

Today begins in Hoorn, a traditional 17th-century town that was formerly an important base for the Dutch East India Company, and is home to a replica of the company's infamous merchant ship - the Batavia. Cross the lake to Lelystad, where you can opt to join an excursion to Het Loo Palace - the former residence of the Dutch royal family - this afternoon.

Olympia's final call is at Zaandam, where a canal runs past vibrant the green-painted houses and traditional Dutch windmills that dot the landscape. Claude Monet depicted this charming city in a number of his paintings, having spent some time here during the late 1800s.

Day Three

Today's spectacular excursion is to dazzling Keukenhof Gardens, world-renowned for their colourful floral displays. Enjoy a stroll or a boat ride through multi-coloured scenery, and stop for coffee or refreshments at one of the cafes along the way.

This afternoon, return to the ship in Amsterdam, choosing to enjoy your final evening relaxing on board or opting to join a cheese and wine canal cruise to take in the sights from the water.

Day Four

Disembark in Amsterdam, and transfer back to the train station for your rail journey home.

Further Information

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Optional shore excursions

Optional excursions are available on all cruises, and we recommend that you book now to secure your place. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled. In this case your payment will be refunded in full.

Cabin sizes

The majority of cabins on board are 10.5m square. Single cabins are approximately 7.7m square. (These measurements include the bathroom.) Standard Promenade cabins are 15m square and most have double beds (which do not convert to sofas), but they do not have a table or stool and will by subject to engine noise during overnight and early morning sailing.

Drinking water

The tap water on board is safe to drink, but may not be to your taste due to the purification system.

Itinerary changes

On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

Pre-paid drinks package

Spend just £17.50 per person per night, and enjoy unlimited draught beer, house wine and soft drinks (including water, tea and coffee) between 10am and midnight while on board Olympia. All other drinks are not included. The drinks package must be purchased by every person occupying a particular cabin.

Luggage

Where possible, non-rigid suitcases are easier to store within your cabin.

Dress code

The dress code on board and ashore is casual. After 7pm, in the lounge and restaurant, shorts are not permitted, and footwear and a shirt or T-shirt must be worn.

Tipping

Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. An envelope will be left in your cabin for this purpose.

*This offer applies to new bookings made between 24th February and 14th April 2017 (inclusive) only. Prices shown when booking do not include the discount. The discount amount will be added to your booking once the promo code has been entered and will be confirmed before purchase. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay on Olympia. The ship was very comfortable and the staff were fantastic. We were disappointed that we were unable to visit Hoorn due to the weather but understood passenger safety was paramount. Suggestions for improvement - Thalys train between Brussels and Amsterdam both ways would have been preferable. The restaurant needs a faster toaster at breakfast. Wifi should be free of charge. It would also be useful on the booking confirmation to state that train times are subject to confirmation as I booked onward travel for our return and then had to change the tickets at the last minute.

All was enjoyable. We cannot fault the staff.
Slight humming from generator disturbed sleep though or some machinery.

We enjoyed our travelling experience on the trains but were disappointed with the standard of the cruise, namely the food and the fact that we could not get a free cup of tea when we wanted.

We enjoyed this short break food, overall service was excellent on board. Sometimes felt the itinerary was a little rushed especially on the day of disembarkation. Breakfast was suppost to be staggered we were the first to leave the ship travelling on Eurostar but when we arrived for breakfast the restaurant was quite full. There was only 12 people travelling on Eurostar but a lot more were having breakfast and we felt very rushed as we only had 30 minutes before leaving, I did not see the point of staggering breakfast. We were also informed there would be no night time sailing GREAT but unfortunately at 4.30.am that morning the engines started up and the noise and vibration was something else!!! Overall enjoyable trip.
