Fly into Munich, meet your tour manager and journey across the Austrian border to the scenic Tyrol, to enjoy the warm welcome and hospitality of your hotel. Settle into your room, explore your surroundings and enjoy a first evening meal.
Join your tour manager for a full-day sightseeing tour. You'll begin by travelling to picture-postcard Rattenberg, the Tyrol's smallest town, which is beautifully set beneath the ruins of its castle, and famous for its glass-blowing and crystal work – as well as for its traditional Apfelstrudel. See artisan craftspeople at work, and taste the traditional dessert as prepared by master bakers, before completing a wonderful day with a visit to Lake Achensee. Relax on one of the beaches that fringe its wooded shores – many of which are popular spots for swimming – or take a cruise on a lake steamer (payable locally).
You'll return to the hotel in time for dinner.
Bid farewell to your hotel and make the short journey to Oberammergau. Make the most of your chance to explore this colourful, historic village and visit the fascinating museum, before taking your seat in the auditorium as the story of Christ’s Passion unfolds on the vast stage. Over 2000 villagers are involved in the production, acting, singing or playing in the orchestra. While the auditorium is covered, the stage is open to the elements, adding to the authenticity of the performance. Such is the quality of the acoustics that no microphones are used, as the dialogue and music is carried to the furthest seats. The unfolding drama, of Old Testament scenes and the Passion, takes place over two acts, with an early-evening interval during which you will have dinner in a local restaurant and be able to stretch your legs.
At the end of this uniquely memorable experience, you’ll spend your last night in a local guesthouse or hotel allocated by the Passion Play organisers.
After breakfast, this morning, you'll be transferred back to Munich where the rest of the day is free to explore this fine city in the heart of Bavaria. Spend the night in the city.
Today, you'll be transferred back to the airport for your flight home at the end of a uniquely memorable few days.

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. This includes reversing the itinerary. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.
The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately two hours.
