Day One

Leaving your pick-up point, early this morning we'll head to the historic market town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Discover its many Shakespearian associations - his Birthplace, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and his grave at Holy Trinity Church. Explore the shops or the weekend craft market, stroll along the river, and perhaps enjoy an early evening meal before we head to our hotel.

Day Two

After breakfast we'll travel to the 'black and white' market town of Ludlow for the highlight of our weekend - the Medieval Christmas Fayre.

Behind the castle walls you'll find a festive scene that will transport you back into the Middle Ages. Jesters, minstrels, pipers and story-tellers provide entertainment for all ages. Historical re-enactments, have-a-go archery and falconry displays add to the atmosphere, and the market stalls offer up Christmas gift ideas from medieval-themed crafts to jewellery and leather goods.

Sample festive fare, and explore the winding cobbled streets of the town itself, before we begin our journey home in the mid afternoon, arriving back at your original pick-up point by mid-to-late evening.

A well organised trip over two days. There was enough time in both Stratford and Ludlow to cover the sites and Fayre.
The coach driver was excellent and our guide was very Informative and made sure we were all ok with arrangements.
The hotel room was rather tired, and the public rooms were rather chilly. However the beds were comfy and the breakfast was fine.

Overall an enjoyable break. Mediaeval Ludlow festival was great and Stratford nice as not Been before. Would have been better to stay in Stratford overnight instead of the HI Express on the M6 at Walsall! Coach driver deserves a mention for his excellent negotiation of the tight bends in Ludlow. Lot of time on the coach but my mum enjoyed it so it was worth it.

Bury Friends
The hotel and visits to Stratford and Ludlow were very enjoyable. Our major complaint was with the journey back from Ludlow. This took five hours - not because of traffic but because we had to wait at each drop off for the feeder coach to arrive. We were at the first stop for an hour, the second for 45 minutes and the third for just under half an hour. This spoilt what had been an excellent trip.

When we got to the hotel were not ready for us, card keys done but with no names on them, I had to wait for our card, which was sitting there all the time, with my name spelt wrong, Kettle in the room did not work, had to ask for a new one twice took over an two hours to get to us, we had booked a table for 8.30 so I though I would take my meds with a coffee, could not do that, went for the food to be sat in the door way, we did get moved, the starters did not come till 9.30 and that was only after I said if you see an ambulance tonight, that will be for me as I still had not taken my meds, we finished are starters and the mains came within minutes, it was so hot they must have re heated it, Ludlow was good a great market.
