Your Itinerary

View a full breakdown of your holiday to help you plan your trip

  • Fly to Cologne or travel by rail with Eurostar via Brussels and transfer to the A-ROSA SENA for your 7-night cruise.

The best views of Cologne are from the river. Your ship moors close to the old town,  with its narrow streets filled with traditional old houses, breweries, beer halls, cafes and shops. Explore ancient walls and medieval churches, a fantastic selection of quality museums and, the calling card of the city, its famous Gothic cathedral, dominating the skyline.

  •  Arrive in Amsterdam in the early afternoon. The A-ROSA SENA makes an impressive sight moored just footsteps from the city's iconic Centraal Station and close to the city centre. Explore the history of Amsterdam as you weave through its pretty tree-lined canals and quirky streets. World renowned sights include, the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House and the controversial red-light district. Of course, you’ll have the option of an expert guided tour of this vibrant metropolis. As the canals are lit up by charming city lights, opt for a canal cruise by night, a wonderful experience.

  • Today you’ll have another chance to explore the Dutch capital. Perhaps, you will take a cycle tour of this famously bipedal city or take to the water and explore its historic canals on a barge tour. Visit your favourite museum or art gallery, and meander through Amsterdam’s ancient streets, lined with cafes and boutiques to its famous flea markets. Don’t miss out on delicious Dutch pancakes, too. Perhaps take an optional tour to the ancient town of Haarlem, noted for its medieval character and centre for flower growing.

  • As the A-ROSA SENA switches to silent battery power, you'll glide elegantly into Rotterdam with its impressive skyline with the Erasmusbrug bridge before you. Rotterdam is the centre of contemporary architecture, home to the famous cube houses and the Witte Huis, the first skyscraper in Europe. It is easy to explore Rotterdam from the ship’s central mooring this afternoon and evening. Soak up the atmosphere in the vibrant waterfront area at the Old Harbour, the perfect place to enjoy a late afternoon or evening drink enjoying the laidback Dutch lifestyle.

  • Step ashore this morning at Antwerp in Belgium, ‘Diamond Capital of the World’. Centred around the impressive Grote Markt square, a masterpiece of Flemish Renaissance architecture, Antwerp’s medieval heart is maze of café-lined cobbled streets. Spend the day at your leisure, before your ship departs in the early evening.

  • A wonderful day ahead exploring the Antwerp’s treasure trove of delights, from its medieval centre -Grote Markt - with cobbled lanes, treat-filled cafes, gift shops, and boutiques. Visit the riverside fortress Het Steen dating back to the 13th century and the magnificent baroque Cathedral of our Lady. Art lovers will enjoy time at Rubens House, or head to the diamond district where you can learn about these precious stones at the excellent museum. All the highlights can be experienced on an optional tour.

  • Today, enjoy the facilities of the A-ROSA SENA as she sails to Cologne. After a leisurely breakfast, divide your time on the sun deck, in the pool or in the stunning panoramic lounge. Let fascinating views unfold as you past towns, villages and pretty countryside. The tranquil SPA-ROSA is the perfect place to relax; a calm space dedicated to unwinding, with foot baths, a relaxation room, fitness room and jacuzzi. Take an optional treatment if you fancy a pamper.

In the evening, enjoy your last night with entertainment in the lounge - with all drinks included, of course.

  • Disembark after breakfast and transfer to the airport or train station for your journey home. If you have a later flight or train (or want to stay extra nights in Cologne), there is much to explore, including the chocolate museum, impressive botanical gardens, and Cologne Cathedral.

Further Information

  • If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

  • Optional excursions are available on all cruises. If the number of bookings needed to operate any excursion is not reached, the excursion may be cancelled.

  • Tipping is not compulsory, but from experience we know that many passengers like to leave gratuities for the crew. At the end of the cruise you will find a tip box for the entire crew at the reception and the suggested amount is five Euros per guest per day. Of course, you are free to tip individual crew members at any time, should you wish.

  • All ships have stairs, are not equipped with lifts, and may not be suitable for passengers with restricted mobility. Wheelchairs cannot be used on board.

  • The dress code on board and ashore is comfortable and casual; we recommend that you bring sturdy footwear for excursions. For the restaurant we recommend smart casual dress. Please remember to bring warmer clothes for evenings out on deck.

  • Wi-Fi is provided free of charge in accordance with A-ROSA's conditions of use. You can request a login and password from reception. Internet reception is limited and will vary from location to location.

  • Where possible, we recommend non-rigid suitcases as these are easier to store within your cabin.

  • A heated pool can be found on the sun deck of the following ships: A-ROSA DONNA, FLORA, SILVA and STELLA.

  • A heated Whirlpool can be found on the following ships: A-ROSA AQUA, and VIVA.

  • In your cabin you will find a safe installed in the wardrobe, a hairdryer, bathrobes and slippers, insect screens and pool towels. The power supply in your cabin is 220 V/50 Hz. All sockets are European two-pin, meaning you will need to bring an adapter.

  • All A-ROSA vessels are air-conditioned throughout, with individual climate control in each cabin.

  • The water on board is potable and bottled water is provided in your cabin.

  • On rare occasions, the Captain may need to alter the Cruise Itinerary. If this happens, the Cruise Manager will keep passengers informed.

  • Visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice to find out the latest Foreign And Commonwealth Office travel advice for your holiday destination, as well as information about passports and visas.

  • Rules may have changed since you last travelled to European Union countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The following are useful guidelines which will help you prepare for your next adventure. You do require government issued passport to travel.

Visa - You do not need a visa for short trips to most EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. You’ll be able to stay for up to 90 days in any rolling 180-day period.

European Travel Information & Authorisation System (ETIAS) - Commencing in late 2023 or 2024, all citizens of the United Kingdom will require a ETIAS electronic form completed prior to their arrival into the EU and Schengen member countries.
