Your Itinerary

  • Fly to Dubrovnik, meet your tour manager and transfer to the hotel on the wooded Babin Kuk peninsula, some three miles from the city centre. Depending on your arrival time, you may be able to get to know your surroundings before you enjoy a first dinner at your hotel.

  • Relax in your comfortable hotel and soak up the calm beauty of its wooded surroundings, whether spending the day by the pool or on the terrace, or perhaps heading down to the shore for a dip in the blue Adriatic. The energetic might sign up for water sports or a game of tennis – Croatia’s national pastime – while others might board the local bus and head into nearby Dubrovnik. The choices – and the pleasures – are yours. Dine in the hotel, or perhaps head into the city to enjoy a stroll in the cool of the evening, when the crowds have largely disappeared, and the medieval streets can be enjoyed at their best.

  • After another relaxing morning, bid farewell to your hotel, and transfer to the quayside in picturesque Zaton to board Mendula. Enjoy dinner and your first night on board, getting to know your fellow passengers and the welcoming crew.

  • Following breakfast, Mendula  sets sail out into the blue waters, passing the offshore Elaphiti, or Deer Islands, which, weather and time-permitting, provide an idyllic backdrop for a first dip. This afternoon, you’ll arrive at Mljet Island, where the wooded Mljet National Park can be explored after lunch on board. Mendula is tied up in the tiny port of Pomena, and there’s the chance to enjoy dinner in this unspoiled haven. Each day, the captain will ensure there’s time to enjoy the warm sunshine for which the region is famous and offer the opportunity for a swim or snorkel. The cruise includes five lunches and two evening meals, including a captain’s dinner prepared on board. On other evenings, there’s the chance to go ashore to sample local restaurants, before returning to the ship, perhaps to enjoy a nightcap at the top-deck bar.

  • This morning’s first call is at the picturesque islet of Scedro.  You’ll sail on to nearby Hvar – the most celebrated of Croatia’s offshore archipelago, and a verdant paradise of lush vegetation, floral beauty, vineyards, lavender fields and hidden coves, topped by a rocky ridge. After lunch aboard, enjoy the included guided tour of Hvar Town, where the Venetian arsenal, tiny harbour and cathedral are amongst the highlights. Tonight, soak up the atmosphere of what is one of Croatia’s trendiest enclaves.

  • A morning’s sailing – with perhaps a stop for a swim – brings you to historic Dalmatian capital Split – with its UNESCO listed old town and Roman palace. Croatia’s second city bustles with life, especially on the waterfront promenade, the Riva, and in its colourful market places, which are explored on the included tour after lunch aboard.

  • Today is spent lazily, perhaps swimming, sunbathing or enjoying a long lunch. Mendula sails for Brac, with its stunning beaches, especially clear waters and sleepy main town of Supetar. This evening, enjoy the on-board captain’s dinner.

  • The last island call is verdant Korcula, settled for at least 6,000 years and birthplace, legend has it, of the explorer Marco Polo. Whether true or not, the island is worthy of any voyage of discovery. Enjoy lunch on board, and then join the included tour of the main town – a medieval jewel of narrow streets, built at interlocking angles to avoid the cool winter winds off the sea. This evening, seek out a restaurant or taverna for dinner.

  • Today, Mendula returns to Zaton. Enjoy lunch on board then board our coach for a guided tour of the fascinating, walled city of Dubrovnik. See the Old Town, bustling Luza Square, and the magnificent St Blaise's Church, then explore at your leisure. Other highlights will include the Franciscan Monastery that houses Europe's oldest pharmacy, and the Rector's Palace (entrances payable locally). Stroll around the walls, choose a restaurant or cafe for dinner, then return to Zaton for your final night on board.

  • Bid Mendula farewell, transfer to the airport and check in for your flight home at the end of a wonderful holiday. (Passengers on late-afternoon flights will have the opportunity to enjoy free time in Zaton or Dubrovnik.)

Further Information

  • The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately 30 minutes. On departure, the transfer time from the ship to the airport will be approximately 45 minutes.
  • We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.
  • Please note that the single cabin on the Mendula (which is located on the Main Deck) is roughly three metres by two metres, and is much smaller in size than the twin cabins. As you would expect with a cabin of this size, space is very restricted.
  • At the captain's discretion, it may be necessary to alter the order of the itinerary on your holiday.
  • Each cabin is provided with beach towels and complimentary toiletries.
  • Drinks from the ship's bar and gratuities are not included in the price of your holiday.
  • Please note that credit cards cannot be used to make payments on board.
  • If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
  • The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
  • Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Passengers travelling on tours departing after September 2018 will be offered different excursions on Days Four, Six and Seven. Please see the itinerary for further details.
