With excellent links to the city centre and the M4 motorway, the Port of Cardiff has long been the maritime gateway for both Wales and the South West region. Located in the Bay area of the city, the port is just minutes away from the city and is easily accessible for anyone outside the region, too, the cruise terminal is just 15 miles away from Cardiff Airport. Passengers can enjoy cruises from Cardiff, sailing to Ireland, the British Isles and the Northern Isles.
The port is roughly two miles from the city centre, and the same distance from the M4 motorway. Cardiff Central Station provides easy access with rail connections to Wales, Bristol, Manchester and London Paddington. For UK and international connections, Cardiff Airport is just a 30-minute drive away.
By train: The nearest rail station is Cardiff Bay, which is just a feww hundred metres from the cruise terminal. Grangetown, and the main rail line at Cardiff Central, are also nearby - just over a mile away - and there is a taxi rank at Cardiff Central.
By car: Leave the M4 at junction 33 and head towards Cardiff on the A4232. Follow signs to the Cardiff Docks, which will take you to the port entrance. Enter the port via the East Gate. There are secure parking facilities within the Port area. Car parking must be pre-booked.
Please note that the Port Authorities do not allow passengers to walk from the port entrance to the Cruise Terminal; all passengers must arrive by some form of transport.
There are basic facilities available at the port of Cardiff including toilets, lounge areas and a shop selling food, drinks and newspapers. Baggage assistance is available in the terminal.
