Day One

Leaving the local area by coach this morning we head to Harrogate and its highly acclaimed 'British' Christmas Market, which is situated in the heart of the historic Montpellier Quarter.

Browse over 190 colourful stalls in the Craft and Gift Marquee, enjoy traditional snacks and savour the enticing smells in the Food and Drinks Marquee, or visit Santa in his Grotto - complete with real reindeer!

Allow time to explore the town itself, too, with its great mix of shops, tea houses and eateries. After the chance to have an early evening meal we will head to our overnight hotel.

Day Two

After breakfast we'll head through the moorlands, limestone dales, bustling market towns and pretty villages of the Peak District to Buxton.

Visit splendid Buxton Crescent - centrepiece of the town's Georgian spa heritage - and perhaps wander the iconic, Grade-II listed Pavilion Gardens. If you're still searching for that elusive present, head to the Cavendish Arcade and explore independent boutiques and gift emporiums, or visit Spring Gardens Shopping Centre for the more popular high street stores.

We'll leave Buxton in the afternoon, arriving back in the local area by mid to late evening.

Route taken wasn't very good. Uneccesary time spent on the coach. Feeder coach no knowledge of where he had to go. Hotel was poor service .Breakfast was poorly organised. Management did nothing to calm the disruption and noise made by other guests at an organised function. Was told breakfast was at 8.00 am but we're still waiting for hot food at 8.30

Christmas Market was good. Coach Driver very helpful. Courier insisted on moving some of us to different seats when she got on coach. Some of us got on before her and were already settled into our seats. The coach was already running late and this only added to a further considerable delay. Delays were also caused on the return journey by looking for a garage for petrol and an unscheduled stop, resulting in us getting back very late causing problems for people collecting us.

ellesmere port Friends
the day in harrogate was lovely but the second day was very long and boring we would have preferred to either stay in harrogate or return straight home we went 4 times around St Helens to try and find a drop off this was not the fault of the driver who was very patient

Tadley Friends
There was too much to cram into one night away. One day to travel there, one day to spend in Harrogate and one day to return would have been better.

All ran to time and the market was great. Unfortunately the hotel rooms were very tired and the TV signal was terrible. Breakfast was very nice though. The tour guide didn't seem to know much about the area so his commentary on route was particularly poor.

Not the best
Perhaps it was because we had such a wonderful time in USA when we went with you.
