Continental Christmas celebrations
Join us at two of the most enchanting Christmas markets in Europe. Marvel as Lille's picturesque medieval alleys and squares are transformed by beautifully decorated stalls offering festive fare and superb seasonal gifts, and see the canals and cobbled streets of Bruges shimmer with their own Christmas market magic.
Leaving the local area in the very early morning we'll journey to France. From Calais, we'll travel to Lille and explore the Christmas Market that bustles in the centre of the historic Place Rihour. Browse the stalls for Yuletide treats, and perhaps ride the giant Ferris wheel for wonderful panoramic views over the city, before we head to our hotel.
Today we'll visit Bruges, famous for its picturesque network of canals, fine medieval architecture and the increasingly popular Christmas market held in Simon Stevinplein. Shop for unusual gifts, decorations and delicacies, and soak up the atmosphere, before we return for our ferry/Eurotunnel Channel crossing. We'll head for home, arriving in the local area by the late evening.
We reserve the right to reverse the itinerary, and visit Bruges on Day One and Lille on Day Two.
