Day One

Leaving the local area, in the morning we'll head to our hotel. Once here you'll have time to freshen up and relax before dinner is served.

Day Two

This morning we head to the beautiful hill-top city of Lincoln. Each year, the city and its German twin, Neustadt, get together in the streets surrounding the magnificent cathedral and castle for a spectacular Christmas market.

Wander the 250-plus seasonal stalls, enjoying the organists, carol singers and the heady aroma of mulled wine while browsing for festive decorations, souvenirs and unusual gifts. You may also like to visit recently restored Lincoln Castle (entry fee payable locally) or imposing Lincoln Cathedral - home to one of the four remaining copies of Magna Carta.

Day Three

Today we'll head home, stopping on the way at Nottingham's Winter Wonderland and Victorian Christmas market to browse the stalls and soak up a little more Yuletide cheer.

After the chance to have lunch (payable locally) we'll continue our journey home, arriving back at your original pick-up point by the mid evening.

Reading Couple
Denby Centre not what we expected, very commercial and expensive. It does however give you the opportunity to see/touch current lines. Was hoping to find one or two of the older lines - sold out.

Hotel and breakfast - very good, although the hotel is very remote and we were dependant on the hotel for evening food.

Evening meal (bar food -not included) was hit and miss. The hotel dining room was 'sold out' and we kept getting mixed messages from the staff about when bar meals would be available. Even the coach driver and tour manager got frustrated. Fed eventually.

Lincoln Market is quite spread out and requires a good level of mobility. Stalls mostly resembled my local outdoor markets. Thank heaven for the Bratwurst and German sausage stalls - loads of them. Mulled wine a plenty although not good quality and never the same in paper cups. Recommend you check any Chestnut vendors, I think a couple of mine were conkers!

Dear Lorraine, we are very sorry if you found the sequence of pick ups somewhat lengthy. Very occasionally we receive insufficient response from a particular area to make operation possible on a whole coach and it becomes necessary to combine with another area in order for the tour to proceed. You will appreciate, I am sure, that these group travel arrangements revolve around full coaches and we are offering the holidays by many different newspapers and pick-up points on the same departure dates. Our Operations Department tries to ensure that pick-ups are en-route with the minimum of inconvenience to our customers and its planning process is dictated by the most appropriate coach routing for the pick-up points requested. It may be reassuring to know that each tour route is planned individually and it is unlikely that the same will be used for future tours.

Dover Family
This is the first time we have travelled with Newmarket travel and some of the reviews from travellers going to previous xmas market to Lincoln concerned us somewhat ! But we need not of worried as we found the trip was stress free and well organised. The only thing I would say was the Denby trip was outlets and not for everyone, and the hotel couldn't cope for the amount of people wanting evening meals, therefor causing a fair amount of waiting for food. I would have no qualms about travelling with them again, our knowledgable courier and the driver was entertaining, friendly and helpful a credit to your company.

Let down at pick up point.
Return journey a shambles, change of coach and 1 hour wait.
Not good enough.

Newport Gwent Couple
The trip to Lincoln fulfilled expectations. Two problems: The coach lavatory was locked and the hotel did not provide an evening meal on a Saturday. The hotel was far from the city centre making it impossible to eat locally. Consequently we were forced to consume Fast Food in a shopping mall.

Chelmsford Couple
Waiting at the pick up point. A mini bus pulls up but the driver does not make it known to all at the bus stop who he is. Only when my cell phone rings do I know it's our bus. We are standing right there but he does not approach us. But only approaches a few people.
We are told breakfast is being served can't remember the time. We get there on time but find people are already eating and most of the food has gone and we have to wait for more to be put out. If you are told that breakfast is being served at a certain time only then should people be taking the food and not before. 5hrs at the Denby factory is too long. So many people in such a small space, nine coaches turned up while we were there. You could not go into the shops and look around in comfort. And no where to sit. The Lincoln market was good yet not enough benches to sit on. The mini bus,the suspension was not good for people sitting in the middle to the back of the vehicle. Every bump in the road was agony this needs to be looked at 3 + hours of pure hell. Also, no PA system in coach so did not know what was being said. At the service station going out was not told correctly how many minutes we had there. Was told 10 minutes at first rushed in to use the toilets and grab a sandwich only to be told it's okay you have 25 minutes more. All this rushing about when things could have been told more clearly.
