Your Tour Base: Lake Garda Hotels In Malcesine, Limone, Torbole And Riva del Garda

Elegant, stylish and well located: each of our four resorts has been chosen to provide you with the best Lake Garda has to offer.

Malcesine

A town of winding alleyways and cobbled squares, Malcesine sits on Garda's north-eastern shore beneath the protective gaze of its 13th-century castle. A funicular railway offers visitors the chance to ride to the summit of Monte Baldo above the town.

Limone

Sitting on the western shore of Lake Garda, Limone takes its name from the terraced citrus groves that surround it. Against this backdrop, cobbled streets give way to the azure waters of the lake, and lazy sunny days balance bustling nights in the resort's cafes and bars.

Torbole

In the north-eastern corner of Lake Garda, Torbole is our liveliest resort. The town boasts a vibrant cafe culture and a delightful waterfront promenade - an ideal stop to relax and watch as windsurfers skip across the water, taking advantage of the area's cooling breeze.

Riva del Garda

One of Garda's most popular destinations, Riva sits at the lake's northern tip. The town boasts a rich history, vibrant pastel-painted houses and a wide selection of cafes, restaurants and bars.

Venice, Verona And Lake Garda Tour Itinerary

Every day a new experience

Day One: Travel to Italy then on to Lake Garda

Fly to Milan, Venice or Verona, meet our expert Tour Manager at the airport, and transfer to your hotel in Lake Garda by coach. Once you've checked in, depending on your flight time, you're free to relax where you are, or venture out before returning for an evening meal at your hotel.

Day Two: Explore Lake Garda at leisure

Stroll by the lake, watch the world go by from a cafe, discover your resort's shops and boutiques or simply relax in the comfort of your hotel.

Day Three: Grand Circular Tour of Italy's largest lake

On today's included Grand Circular Tour you'll take in Lake Garda's varied scenery. We'll explore the area, by boat and on board a comfortable coach, from the citrus and olive groves in the west to the fjord-like east and the mountainous northern shore.

On the journey back to your hotel, you'll visit Garda itself and Bardolino - a name you'll probably recognise for its famous red wine.

Day Four: Visit Venice, the capital of northern Italy's Veneto

Discover the water-city, Venice, a labyrinth of waterways and alleyways. Take a short ride on its network of canals, see the iconic landmarks and famous locations of one of the world's most beautiful cities - St Mark's Square with its magnificent basilica and bell tower, the Doge's Palace, the Rialto Bridge, the Palace of Prisons and the Bridge of Sighs.

Day Five: Enjoy Lake Garda at your own pace

Spend a day relaxing at your hotel and in the resort. A favourite cafe, a preferred spot at the water's edge, the perfect bar... today's the ideal day to revisit your new-found, favourite holiday haunts.

Day Six: Visit Verona

"Fair Verona" is the unforgettable setting for the tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet. Discover this historic city on today's included excursion, which includes a visit to the Roman amphitheatre the venue for Verona's famous annual opera season. And, once your historical sightseeing is done, take a break in a cafe on Piazza Bra, in the shadow of 2,000 years of splendid architecture.

Day Seven: See the Dolomites

Head into the dramatic mountains north east of Lake Garda, as we explore the Dolomites. This full-day trip includes visits to Marmolada and Canazei in the mountain's shadow, Val Rendena, the huge Adamello Glacier, the Brenta Dolomites and pretty Val di Genova. Make sure you take the optional cable-car ride, too. The views are absolutely outstanding.

Day Eight: Transfer to Milan, Venice or Verona and return home

Say a fond farewell to your resort, as you return to the airport and check in for your flight home at the end of your Lake Garda, Venice and Verona experience.

Further Information

Hotel transfer times

The transfer time to Lake Garda is approximately three hours from Milan and Venice airports, and one hour from Verona Airport.

Special requirements

If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

Entrance fees

Since some attractions visited offer free admission to visitors at certain times of year, we do not include entrance fees. These will be payable locally where applicable. This applies to excursions that are included in the price of your holiday and to excursions booked as optional extras.

Combining hotel transfers

We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

Meals in Italy

Guests on half-board arrangements will be served a three-course evening meal, and can expect a first course of traditional pasta or soup, a main meat or fish course accompanied by one or two types of vegetable, and a simple dessert of fruit, cake or Italian ice cream. Breakfasts will usually consist of bread rolls, jam, cereal, ham, cheese, fruit juice, tea and coffee. Menus will vary from hotel to hotel, but choice will be more limited than in a normal restaurant. In some instances, individual guests who have booked with the hotel independently may be offered a different menu from those who are staying at the hotel as part of a package tour.

Disabled access

The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Italian hotel room tax

Some regions of Italy have introduced a room tax of between 1 EURO and 3 EURO per person per night, payable directly by the guest to the hotel on check-out. You will be advised by your tour manager in resort if a particular hotel is implementing this charge.

Airport development fees

An Airport Development Fee has been introduced at a few UK Airports. You will be required to pay this charge at the following airports prior to checking in for your flight: Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Newquay and Norwich. The amount varies from airport to airport, but it is generally between £5 and £10 per person. Please visit the airport's website for further information.

Itinerary changes

Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

Noisy traffic for hotel single room at Angelini gave interrupted sleeping and no change offered by owner though double rooms available. Tour rep said change possible but no follow up. Would not recommend single rooms for light sleeper . Small Planet Airlines also

lived up to their unreliable reputation (3 hours late going out). Good trips but not sense to visit Sirmione on Monday when Roman Ruins closed as was castle. Enjoyed overall

A good week, but because of rearrangement of excursion days it became a little unbalanced. Disappointed to be in Venice on Sunday when many churches were closed to tourists. Hotel food ample but somewhat bland. The Lake tour bypassed places mentioned by the courier and where we could have stopped and then stopped for an hour where there was little open apart from a couple of cafes.
