Getting to Newcastle Cruise Terminal

Newcastle city centre is eight miles away, and it boasts transport links to the surrounding regions and the country as a whole. Newcastle International Airport is 15 miles away, just a 30-minute drive by taxi.

By train: Newcastle’s Central Station is just nine miles away, and the port is very close to the city's easily accessible Metro rail system, bus and taxi services. There is also a shuttle bus service to the port from Bewick Street, opposite Newcastle Central Station. There are two departures, one at 2:45pm and the second at 3:45pm.

By car: The port is accessible from the A1 motorway, which is about 20 miles away. Follow signs northbound on the A19 and head for Port of Tyne International Passenger Terminal, Cobledene, North Shields, Tyne and Wear. The car park is open from 7am to 8pm every day.

Facilities in the port of Newcastle

Terminal facilities here includes toilets, a shop, a cafe and a licensed bar for drinks, snacks and meals. Free Wi-Fi is available. The terminal team are on hand in the passenger terminal at all times. The Royal Quays shopping outlet is only a few minutes’ walk away, and boasts an additional range of shops, cafes and amenities.
