Your Itinerary

  • Meet your tour manager upon arrival, then make the short transfer by coach into the US and onto Jay Peak, Vermont, for an overnight stay. Relax and unwind this evening, perhaps making use of the hotel facilities, or taking a gentle walk through the picturesque forest.

  • Check out this morning for the scenic journey to North Conway. Settle into your seat as you pass through Franconia Notch, a spectacular mountain pass traversed by a unique parkway which extends from Echo Lake at the north to Flume Gorge at the south.

You’ll stop for some fresh air and a photo opportunity before re-boarding the coach and passing by a blaze of red, purple, green and golden hues as you travel along the Kancamagus Highway, renowned as one of the best fall foliage viewing areas in the entire country.

Continue your scenic journey to North Conway, where you’ll stay for the next two nights.

  • Enjoy a day at leisure exploring the village of North Conway, a charming outdoorsy town that is a popular staging point for excursions into the wilderness that lies beyond, including Mount Washington. Perhaps take a gentle hike into the surrounding hills or visit the town’s famous Outlet Centre for a spot of shopping.

  • After breakfast this morning, check out and begin the scenic journey to Burlington, on the outskirts of Boston. Your journey will take you through the spectacular New Hampshire Lakes Region, a waterside wonderland surrounded by the White Mountains Region. The largest of the lakes is Lake Winnipesaukee, which covers 72 square miles and boasts 258 islands.

Continue to Burlington, where you’ll stay for the next three nights.

  • Spend an unforgettable day in Boston, one of America’s most welcoming, walkabout cities. You'll have an opportunity to begin your visit with a fascinating optional guided tour that will bring to life this Cradle of the American Revolution, as you follow the famous Freedom Trail through the heart of the compact city. Take in the green acres of Boston Common, and the gold-domed State House, then perhaps visit colourful Quincy Market and its speciality stalls.

Stroll around the parks and gardens, check out Newbury Street’s stylish boutiques, or perhaps visit one of the city's many brew houses – Boston is one of North America’s craft beer capitals – and enjoy lunch at leisure in a vast choice of eateries.

  • Today’s included tour will take you to waterside Newport, famous for its historic mansions and rich sailing heritage. Perhaps enjoy a stroll along Cliff Walk or the pretty harbour, taking in the sweeping sea views, before visiting one of Newport’s famous mansions later on. Over the years, Newport has been home to numerous celebrities and public figures, including Dwight D Eisenhower and Jay Leno.

Transfer back to your hotel at the end of a wonderful day’s touring.

  • Check out this morning for the scenic journey north along the Atlantic Coast, via the exclusive Bush Family retreat of Kennebunkport and the prosperous, seafarers’ city of Portland, with its waterfront wharves and fine seafood restaurants.

From Portland you’ll head inland into the White Mountains, in a blaze of golden fall colours, and up to Bethel, Maine’s most beautiful mountain village, for a one-night stay.

  • Check out this morning for the scenic transfer across the Canadian border and to historic Québec City for a final two-night stay. Sit back and relax as the colourful mountainscape gradually transforms into the stunning cliff-top old city of Québec.

  • Your last full day brings the opportunity to explore historic Québec City, one of Canada's oldest settlements, either under your own steam or by joining an optional tour. You'll have the chance to begin your visit with an optional city tour, and will then have free time to explore the narrow, cobbled alleyways of the lower Basse Ville and its upper Haute Ville counterpart, which together form endlessly enthralling, UNESCO-listed Vieux-Québec, a district dominated by the monumental Citadelle and the Château Frontenac hotel.

At the end of a wonderful day, you’ll return to your hotel for a final relaxing evening, no doubt reflecting on a brilliant break.

  • After a leisurely breakfast, check out and transfer to Montreal. En route you’ll stop at a local sugar shack, where you’ll learn how maple syrup is made. You’ll have the chance to taste some of the sweet local produce at the on-site café – and buy some to take home if you like – before continuing to Montreal for your overnight return flight to the UK.

  • Early morning arrival.

Further Information

  • When travelling to the USA, British citizens require passports with an integrated chip (shown on the front by a small rectangular symbol beneath the word PASSPORT), valid for 90 days after the return date from the tour. Visitors to Canada must apply for an eTA (Electronic Travel Authority) with Canada Immigration before departure at

The current charge is seven Canadian dollars for British Citizens, and the eTA is valid for unlimited visits to Canada over a five year period. Visas are not normally required for entry in to the US by land from Canada, although a charge of 6USD is made when crossing the border. British subjects, and anyone who has a criminal record or has ever been arrested, should consult the US and Canadian Embassies as a visa may be required. Note too that if you have visited North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Sudan or Syria, Libya, Somalia or Yemen since March 2011, or have dual nationality with any of these countries, you do require a US Visa and cannot travel on the Visa Waiver Programme.

  • Gratuities are a way of life in North America, and it is generally accepted that they form part of a person's earnings. Customary gratuity to a coach driver and tour manager is about $5 per person per day; in a taxi or a restaurant leave 15-20 per cent of the bill and in a bar leave a dollar or so per drink.

  • The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately one hour and 30 minutes.

  • Visit to find out the latest Foreign And Commonwealth Office travel advice for your holiday destination, as well as information about passports and visas.

  • Please note there is a US$6 per person charge to cross the border from Canada to the USA. This is payable in cash at the border crossing and is not included in the tour price.

  • We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.

  • You are permitted to take one suitcase per person on the aircraft, which should not exceed 23kg.

  • If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.

  • Should circumstances require, we reserve the right to accommodate you in alternative hotels, of a similar standard, nearby. Full details of your hotels will be sent with your Final Travel Documents.

  • Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.

  • The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
