Your Itinerary

  • You’ll fly to Toronto, meet your tour manager, and be transferred to Niagara Falls – a scenic journey taking approximately two and half hours. Upon arrival at your hotel, you can get settled into your guestroom, which offers a spectacular view of the falls.

  • Today’s excursion will be an unforgettable highlight as you join your tour manager in front of your hotel for an orientation walk around the town and the falls.

The rest of the day is yours to partake in one of three activities. You can choose to sample Niagara Falls' finest blends on a tour of boutique wine farms, embark on the ‘Journey Behind the Falls’ experience, which involves descending by elevator to two outdoor observation decks directly behind the falls, or taking to the sky on an optional helicopter ride to watch the waters from above (weather permitting). Alternatively, you can select a seat at one of the nearby restaurants and soak up the scenery at a slower pace.

In the evening, you’ll have a chance to experience the Winter Festival of Lights. This sensational spectacle of three million twinkling lights illuminates Niagara Parkway, Dufferin Islands and Niagara Falls. Take your time as you stroll around the snow-laden Christmas trees and festive features, before returning to your hotel.

  • The tour will head to the towering skyscrapers of Toronto, with the first stop being the charming Christmas town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Resting on the shores of Lake Ontario, this is Canada’s oldest settlement, and it presents a pretty picture of well-preserved 19th-century buildings and tree-fringed lanes adorned with Christmas decorations and lights. Here, you’ll have three hours to wander around and maybe work through your gift list in the cluster of boutiques and antique shops.

Upon arrival in Toronto, your tour manager will introduce the major landmarks and highlights of Toronto. See the glittering waterfront developments, the sky-piercing CN Tower and the colourful, contrasting neighbourhoods. Afterwards, indulge in some shopping in the city's ultra-modern malls and make the most of the cosmopolitan dining options or perhaps take in a show – Toronto is Canada's capital of live entertainment.

  • A full-day tour of Toronto allows you to become even more acquainted with this capital. During the tour, you’ll see Chinatown, Greektown, Little India and Little Italy, as well as Victorian Cabbagetown and stylish Yorkville, all embellished with lights and decorations. The Distillery Historic District’s Winter Village is a holiday highlight and encompasses a loop of outdoor shopping cabins selling artisanal goodies, food stalls, Christmas displays and live music.

  • Enjoy a free day in Toronto, making the most of your time in the city. Those with a head for heights might go to the CN Tower, where the very brave can experience the stomach-churning EdgeWalk. Maybe stroll the waterfront promenade, head for one of a host of fine museums and galleries, or visit historic Fort York, one of Canada’s most important battlefield sites. You can also take in the neo-Gothic opulence of Casa Loma, one of Toronto's most recognisable landmarks, or perhaps do a spot of Christmas shopping at St Lawrence Market.

  • Another day at leisure awaits – and you can use this final opportunity to visit any of the remaining sights left on your wish-list. The Nights of Lights event in the gardens of Assembly Park is definitely worth checking out in the evening. This immersive experience features one million animated and synchronised lights adorning four tunnels, which you can amble through at your own pace.

To conclude this special, Christmas-inspired holiday, you’ll travel to the 360 Restaurant, set high within the CN Tower, looking out over the city. Feast on a menu of regional Canadian dishes, complemented by local wines and a revolving panoramic view.

  • After a leisurely morning, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight.

  • This morning you’ll arrive back in the UK, feeling festive and content.
