Winter-warming festive break
Head south to the Mediterranean, for this winter-warming festive break on the historic island of Malta. Blessed year round with an agreeable climate, Malta puts on a wonderful festive cloak at Christmas, combining the very best traditional celebrations and some glittering illuminations.
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Fly to Malta, meet your Tour Manager and transfer to your chosen hotel in Qawra.
Rest and relax in the hotel, getting to know this delightful area, which throws itself into the Christmas festivities every year. If time allows, pay a visit to the bars and cafes that fringe the sandy bay, many of which are sure to be dressed for the season.
On the first of our included excursions you'll explore Valletta. Visit the award-winning Malta Experience, where an audio-visual presentation will reveal the history of the island and its capital; the Lascaris War Rooms; the Upper Barracca Gardens; and the Auberge de Castille - former home to the Knights of St John.
Day Four (Christmas Eve)
Today brings an opportunity for some last minute Christmas shopping, as well as an included excursion taking us on a journey back in time, as we cross Valletta's Grand Harbour to reach the three medieval 'cities' of Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea.
This evening, begin your Christmas celebrations with dinner and live entertainment at the hotel.
Day Five (Christmas Day)
Enjoy a perfect Christmas day of rest, relaxation and celebration in the hotel and its surroundings, including traditional Christmas Dinner and live entertainment.
Day Six (Boxing Day)
Enjoy a restful day, or perhaps join the optional excursion to delightful Gozo. Board the ferry for a crossing to the quaint port of Mgarr, and visit the island's fortified capital, Victoria, picturesque Marsalforn, and the fascinating 'Inland Sea' at Dwerja.
Join this afternoon's optional excursion to Sliema, and board a cruiser for a fascinating tour of Valletta's truly spectacular Grand Harbour, the scale of which is best appreciated from the water.
Enjoy a restful day in and around your hotel today, as you recharge after a few busy days of sight seeing.
Spend another day at rest today, enjoying the hotel's facilities, or choose to explore Qawra and its beautiful coastline.
Today, choose again to spend the day at leisure. Alternatively, take a second opportunity to visit Malta's smaller, greener, sister isle Gozo, on an optional excursion.
Day 11 (New Year's Eve)
A hugely enjoyable day begins with a journey inland to Mosta's famous church, the vast unsupported dome of which survived a direct hit during WWII. The tour also includes visits to Rabat, famous for its subterranean catacombs, and Mdina, the ancient, fortified former capital, with its beautiful 'silent city' of narrow streets lined by stone-built houses.
This evening, celebrate in style with dinner and live entertainment at the hotel, and be outside at midnight to view the island's traditional fireworks.
Day 12 (New Year's Day)
Enjoy a day of rest, relaxation and celebration in the hotel and its surroundings.
Return to the airport for the flight home, at the end of a wonderful celebratory break.

Hotel transfer times
The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately one hour.
Combining hotel transfers
We sometimes need to combine transfers to and from your hotel. We always try to keep any wait to a minimum, but you may be asked to wait at the airport for up to an hour, while other incoming flights arrive, before the transfer to your hotel. Similarly, we may need to transfer you back to the airport up to three hours before your flight home departs.
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
Please note that for two people travelling together on one booking, or a single traveller, one piece of hold luggage is included. Additional hold luggage may be purchased at the time of booking at a cost of £40 per bag.
