Your Itinerary

  • Upon arrival you will meet your friendly tour manager, and transfer to your four-star city centre hotel in Cannes.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimatising, or perhaps take a walk and explore your new surroundings, maybe choosing to eat at a local restaurant or café.

  • Join your tour manager this morning for an included tour of Monaco and Monte Carlo. Spend the day in exploration of one of the world’s most exclusive corners, perhaps trying your luck in the casino, window-shopping as you wander the streets of the old La Condamine quarter, enjoying the beauty of the St Martin gardens, with their statue of Albert I gazing out to sea, or perhaps visiting his beloved Oceanographic Museum.

Other highlights include the celebrated Monte Carlo Casino, the pretty pink Palais Princier, home to the Ranier family and the Royal Grimaldis, and Monaco harbour, which is crammed with expensive and improbably huge yachts, round which once a year the super-charged cars of Formula 1™ hurtle in an explosion of colour and noise.

  • Today, you’ll have the choice of joining the optional tour to Nice or spending the day at leisure in Cannes.

The optional tour to Nice will include the busy, palm-fringed Promenade des Anglais with its grand Art Deco hotels, galleries and chic shops and stores. This sweeping seafront highway, fringing the blue Mediterranean, symbolises all the glitz and glamour of one of the world’s favourite playgrounds.

However you decide to spend your day, enjoy an evening at leisure, perhaps choosing to dine at one of Cannes’ many fine eateries.

  • After breakfast, join your tour manager for an included tour of some of the Riviera’s most elegant resorts. Your first visit will be to glittering Saint-Raphaël, a coastal resort a short drive from Cannes that is home to several glorious Mediterranean beaches, including Débarquement Beach, named after the Allied landings that took place here in World War II. Explore the Notre Dame de la Victorie Basilica, which was built from sandstone in the 19th century.

Continue to the neighbouring town of Fréjus, which was founded by the Romans around 49BC. Today the town is home to an impressive collection of well-preserved Roman sites, including an amphitheatre, bridge, theatre and sections of an aqueduct. Pause for a spot of lunch (payable locally), before the tour heads to fabled Saint-Tropez, one of the world’s premier jet-set destinations. Saint-Tropez began life as a fishing village, which is evident in the cobbled-stone streets of the La Ponche quarter and its medieval citadel, which are now surrounded by designer shops. Enjoy a stroll along the seafront, where expensive yachts now outnumber fishing boats, before returning to Cannes for the evening, for dinner at your leisure.

  • Join your tour manager after breakfast as you head up into the hills for today’s included tour. Call first at Grasse, a small town famous for being the world’s perfume capital, and unsurprisingly, home to many large perfumeries. The area’s microclimate is unique, and perfect for growing many essential perfume ingredients, including jasmine. Enjoy a tour of the perfume museum, and explore Grasse Cathedral, which contains paintings by Rubens.

Continue along the dramatic Gorges du Loup, past perilously perched villages, thick forests and even waterfalls, to the charming medieval town of Saint Paul de Vence. Sitting proudly at the top of a picturesque hill and surrounded by medieval walls, Saint Paul de Vence is one of the Riviera’s oldest towns, and a favoured retreat for famous artists over the years. As such, the town is home to several excellent art galleries, including the Fondation Maeght. Enjoy an exploration of the town’s narrow, cobbled-stone streets, perhaps choosing a café to watch the world go by from with a bite to eat and something to drink.

Return to your hotel in Cannes and spend your final night on the Riviera at leisure.

  • Transfer back to the airport for your return flight, at the end of a relaxing few days on the Côte d'Azur.
