Life on board Marco Polo
There's far more to Marco Polo than we could possibly fit on this page. Click below to find out more about her cabins, restaurants and other excellent facilities.
WHAT DOES THE PRICE INCLUDE?
Day One: Depart London Tilbury
Board Marco Polo in Tilbury, today, and settle in to your cabin as the ship prepares to set sail.
Days Two and Three: At sea
Spend your first two full days on board relaxing, and getting to know the ship, her crew and your fellow passengers.
Day Four: Kollafjordur, Faroes
The 'stretched' village of Kollafjordur welcomes Marco Polo to the Faroes today. Tiny Torshavn is the capital of this cluster of remote islands, home to countless bird species and a deep-rooted Norse tradition. On an optional excursion to other islands, you might cross the famous ‘Bridge across the Atlantic’, which connects the main island, Streymoy, with smaller Eysturoy.
Day Five: At sea
Relax on board as Marco Polo spends another day at sea.
Day Six: Akureyri
Akureyri, on Iceland's rugged north coast, is a thriving winter sports centre and home to a fascinating Botanical Garden. The area beyond is wondrously scenic, and today's excursion, to the Godafoss Falls and volcanic Lake Myvatn, will highlight many of its delights.
Days Seven to Eight: Reykjavik, Iceland
Reykjavik is the world's northernmost capital. Its brightly painted wooden buildings contrast sharply with the stunning beauty of its setting beneath Mount Ejsa. Step ashore to explore, take the lift to the top of the Hallgrimskirkja Church for a panoramic view, or visit the fascinating Arbaer Folk Museum and the Saga Museum as Marco Polo spends an evening and a full day here, and perhaps take a nighttime trip outside the city in search of the Northern Lights, the enchanting Aurora Borealis, that flicker across Iceland’s autumn and winter skies.
Days 9-10: At sea
Spend another two days at sea, hopefully enjoying crisp air and sunny skies during the day, and the glimmer of the Northern Lights by night.
Day 11: Kirkwall
Today Marco Polo arrives in Kirkwall, Orkney's historic capital. Wander the streets and marvel at magnificent St Magnus Cathedral, or join an excursion to fabled Scapa Flow, Churchill's famous Barriers or the Italian Chapel.
Day 12: At sea
Make the most of your final day aboard Marco Polo, reliving the memories your cruise to Iceland, as she cruises back to London.
Day 13: Arrive Tilbury
Bid farewell to Marco Polo and all your fellow travellers, today, as you disembark at the end of your cruise.
Days marked above with an anchor include ports where you will be transferred to shore by landing boat. These ports may be inaccessible for customers with mobility difficulties as a result. Any days not listed will be spent at sea.
British Citizens will need a full, 10-year passport to travel on this cruise.
